Crossed Tiles

Crossed Tiles is an interesting strategy experiment that I found surprisingly enjoyable once I understood how everything fit together. The game combines card based building with an auto battler structure, while the real objective is to build my own field and occupy the opponent's important area. I liked that the battles are automatic because it puts the emphasis on preparation rather than fast reactions. The main gameplay revolves around purchasing cards and using buildings and heroes to create stronger combinations. Once the battle begins, the pieces engage automatically, so the decisions I made beforehand become extremely important. I enjoyed experimenting with different arrangements because a small change in my setup can affect the whole encounter. The occupation system gives the battles a nice sense of direction. I am not simply trying to destroy everything in front of me. I need to push into the opposing side and claim the important space, which means positioning matters as much as raw power.
