Crossroads: Lucky Edition is a classic dungeon crawler presented through a clever card‑based format. Every step through the dungeon involves flipping cards to reveal enemies, traps, shrines, books, loot, or useful tools. Your goal on each floor is simple: find the lock and key that let you descend deeper. But luck plays a huge role, and every card you turn can either help you or ruin your run. Character creation is flexible. You choose your gender, race (human, elf, or orc), religion, and class—and you can change these later. Experimenting with different combinations is part of the fun, and eventually you’ll discover the setup that suits your playstyle. Difficulty ramps up quickly. By the fourth floor, you might face an enemy with 8‑damage hits and 40 HP while your character is still only level 1–3. And you must defeat it to get the key. Don’t expect to win; expect to die fast and often. Most runs end before the tenth floor. After each defeat, the game shows your performance, and if your score is high enough—based on floor reached multiplied by kill count—you’ll earn loot. Higher scores mean better rewards. "Crossroads: Lucky Edition" is one of those really weak mobile apps that's pretending to be a real RPG but it really plays out more like a "minesweeper" type game. All you do is tap on squares on a grid to see what "encounters" pop up... like the ASCII game "Hack/Rogue" has more depth than this. I couldn't find this on the app stores, but for all intents and purposes this could have been a mobile app. We're here for best of breed PC gaming experiences, and this is about as far from that as you can get. That's reason enough to avoid this mess. We don't spend thousands on gaming hardware just to run low-effort iPhone apps on our desktops. This wasn't designed for typical widescreen monitors, and, carrying on with a mobile-centric design, it's locked to mobile phone 9:16 aspect ratio. It won't look right on modern PCs as a result of this bizarre decision to publish a PC game that doesn't conform to the standard display form factors. The developer chose not to do the job of a real game developer and create meaningful bespoke levels, narrative based gameplay progression and so on.
