About Cryptic Escape
Ever since the dawn of time monsters have taken hard earned dwarven treasure, and finally the dwarves have had enough. You are chosen are their champion, and are sent into the dungeons to recover your treasure, problem is.... No one taught you how to fight the monsters, so your best option is to sneak by, and hope they don't catch you.
Cryptic Escape is a difficult rougelike dungeon explore where your goal is to recover as much treasure as possible, and find your way out, without any of the monsters catching you. Lucky for you, you can buy upgrades to help your chances, and find special potions in the dungeon itself to make your journey easier.
Navigate your way through the dungeon, featuring procedurally generated unique and different floors, each harder, with different monsters who are determined to not let you out, and not let your recover any treasure. But beware, if you are careful enough, and silent enough you just might just get by unnoticed.
Make yourself better using the treasure you retriieved in order to become stronger, faster, more durable, and harder for the monsters to notice & catch. Making it easier to get more treasure! Which options will you choose? Stealth, hoping for less monsters to sense you? Or maybe Scavanger, hoping to find some more treasure?
But you better watch out! Remember the monsters are searching for you, they don't want their treasures taken. You better not let the any of them catch and stop you from getting back what's rightfully yours! They will try to make your journey more difficult using their different traps and skills, so good luck avoiding them.

"Cryptic Escape" is a roguelike dungeon explorer. You run around following your compass to find the key to unlock the door and progress. In the in between time you gather as much loot as possible! Finish quests, upgrade, become stronger, stealthier and richer! Use the potions you'll find and the environment to your advantage and lose the enemies that follow you! Be it spikes, potions, wall manipulation and more, plan sneaky ways to escape from their reach. It's a simple concept that can entertain you for a few good hours since its procedurally generated levels will always feel fresh and unique! There is enough enemy variety and they are just the right speed and amount to keep you alarmed and on the lookout but not so many as to overwhelm you or being unfair. It's not a grindy game. It could benefit from more decorations, a bit more friendly UI, more details or tutorials and more ways to block the enemies or power ups with abilities (freeze time, slippery floor, mist, etc). Wait a sale and give it a go! If you like the genre and the idea, it won't disappoint! A cute casual games. A bit simplistic but the variance in the enemies and floors is enough to keep you hooked for a few good hours. Definitely heavy on the meta progression stuff but necessarily on the bad side of it. Balance is fair albeit there can be a few frustrating occasions, but since the game play loop isn't that long and you want to start the next run you barely notice it. Overall a very fun game and a nice way to pass your evening.1 found this helpful
