Combat is simple to understand but satisfying, with abilities, stats, permanent growth, and repeated choices that make the adventure feel like it is steadily expanding around you. After about eight hours, I still felt like there was more to discover. The base game is free, and that makes the recommendation especially easy. The Special Edition DLC adds some interesting extra content and is worth considering if the game’s fantasy works for you, but the…4 found this helpful
Dawn of Corruption is a dark fantasy adult RPG that combines interactive storytelling, turn-based combat, exploration, transformation, and persistent character progression into a deliberately unconventional adventure. Developed and published by Sombreve, the game revolves around a spreading supernatural corruption that affects both the world and its inhabitants. Although its mature subject matter is immediately prominent, there is more structure beneath the surface than a straightforward adult visual novel. Character development, combat abilities, branching decisions, relationships, and long-term transformations all contribute to an experience built around the idea that nearly everything can change as the journey progresses. The story begins when the protagonist's village comes under attack from an enormous corrupted creature. Following the incident, the player is chosen to venture beyond the safety of home and investigate where this corruption originated. The ultimate objective is to stop the phenomenon before it overwhelms the world, but the journey is intentionally less straightforward than this basic premise suggests. Genuinely interesting and entertaining, I would have happily paid for this.1 found this helpful
Lovely game. It gave me tons of fun even before I got it here on steam. Art both character work and background is gorgous. Sounds are well >///< very good for what they are trying to accomplish. Music is there but considering the subject matter I don't think anyone is expecting head bangers... not of that kind anyway. Combat is my only criticism. First few encounters turn you into enough of a beast that you can whipe the floor with your enemies with one card so there's no point in getting/having anything beyond "pummel". Now excuse me while I 100% all the achevements.
it's addictive~ in all the good ways hehe
ALL audio causes a CTD... currently unplayable as is...
