About DDD: Demons Double Down

Maybe in your city. Maybe today.Vera isn’t the type to go looking for adventure. Empty night streets, the mirror of wet asphalt after a recent rain, the hypnotic flicker of bar signs under the distant wail of police sirens… A familiar sight. A familiar run through nightlife spots—trying to outrun loneliness and find a connection with anyone at all, when you can’t even find it with yourself. Her last stop before calling a taxi is an unremarkable club she’s never been to. From the very threshold it becomes clear that Vera is lost not only in life, but in her own city: her night walk has led her to a special place. Special… and maybe a little otherworldly. Here, every conversation turns into a piece of a puzzle, and every choice of line or reply might be rewarded with… a card?.. What kind of games do the regulars play here? When your whole life suddenly turns into a mystical drama visual novel, all you can do is play by the rules. These days, you should always be ready to meet a half-naked, muscular, and very handsome werewolf millionaire.Features:
— A short visual adventure that takes twenty minutes—drop in and drop out…
— …which might not be so short once demons get involved.
— Nothing extra: in this visual novel, every choice matters, and the endings aren’t as important as your personal path to them.
— WARNING: there are fewer humans among the characters than it might seem at first glance. But every single one is lovingly handcrafted in a distinct authorial style. No neural nets!
— A scary, unusual, and brand-new visual novel genre for Wirion Studio: “nebiopunk.”
— …but the familiar traits fans love are still here: psychological drama, deep dialogues, and socio-philosophical themes.
— …plus a bit of irony, sarcasm, satire, metaphors, and mysticism.
— There will be no half-naked werewolf millionaires. Sorry.

How on earth do you get a VN this un-optimized and laggy? I mean don't get me wrong the story's worth it but good grief.

This game did not initially appeal to me. Once I realized it was by the same devs that made Ceiba and Athanasy, two fascinating VNs I greatly enjoyed, I had to get it. Having just completed my first and only 'successful' run, I'm very glad I did for one reason: Patrick. He's the first character I talked to and the one whose victory route I got once I figured out how that works on my third run. At least, I assume the other 3 also have ways to access a victory route. Never mind them, though. We're here to talk about my boy. First off, it's very clear why he's named Patrick. It's obviously a reference to Patrick Bateman from American Psycho. He goes off on a tangent about the socio-economic value of organized crime and, I gotta be honest, he makes points. In my early 20s, I found myself wondering if organized crime might not be a preferable alternative to government for the simple reason that the mob usually just chases profit, whereas the psychopathic demons we call politicians can have any deranged or horrific reasons for wanting to control the lives of millions of people down to fetishistic minutiae. Over the years, as I've wizened and mellowed, I've come to appreciate the inadequ…

Just completed the game and I’m still buzzing. It’s one of those games that sneaks up on you—starts off like a weird night out at a sketchy club and somehow turns into this deep, funny, slightly terrifying conversation about life, death, and everything in between. The bar itself feels alive: dim lights, strange regulars, and this constant sense that the walls are listening. You’re not just trying to get out—you’re trying to figure out what the hell is even going on while these larger-than-life characters mess with your head. And the heart of it is the late-night card game with two absolute forces of nature. One’s the Prince of Lies (or the Great Dragon, or Lucifer, THE BAD GUY), a smooth, smug bastard who owns the club, the city, and apparently everyone’s dirty little desires. The other is Light—literally Love itself, the guy who made everything and still finds humans endlessly entertaining because we never stop asking questions and complaining. Their banter is pure gold: constant kicking under the table, “he’s lying,” “I never cheat… okay I always cheat,” and this wild theology where Hell isn’t even open yet because the Last Judgment is still pending. Watching Vera try to keep her…

Game actually hits real deep on some points. For how short each play-through is, it hit on some stuff close to home for me Really glad I got this.

A great game I probably took more time then needed , because I didnt realise at once that you could skip text you allready seen. Witch you might do, do get the ending. The game has some choices and some outcomes and some of them leads to bad ends I liked the dialogue alot, the characters is great. The music is fine too. I liked the artwork alot . And if you want a VN that still in its short amount of time during a first this is worth playing. A first run might take around 30 min, and you might need a bit more to not get a bad ending. Anyway the character is great , varied and a liked their design. The dialogue can even be a bit funny. Still a good game well worth a buy.

Interesting visuals and characters. I wanted to complete only one route at first, but in the end it became interesting, and I finished almost all of them. I haven’t tried some of the combinations yet; I’m curious how they will affect the ending. The character voice acting is also pleasant.I recommend this game.
