I'm a big fan of horror movies, horror games, horror books and pretty much anything that is designed to try and scare you.. Most of the time I'm left with a slight chuckle but never truly scared (this game isn't going to scare me or you) except the Ring,, for some reason that long hair girl and her jump scares were too much.. It didn't help that the first time I watched the movie someone actually called me..... like right in the middle of the movie, seriously right when one of the characters was getting a call after watching the tape.. Soooooo.. anyway.. If you like scary stuff, this game might tickle your fancy.. Story - you play as Nick, a recent high school graduate, a man suffering from numerous mental ailments after having a "grisly tragedy" befall him.. His mother decided it would be a great idea to take him to a remote cabin in the woods, in order to let his emotions have a chance to rejuvenate or get jiggy wit it.. (sorry this isn't Cherry Kiss games, no getting jiggy in this visual novel) The story is rather simplistic in nature, and takes about 20 minutes to read through for a single time.. Gameplay - normal visual novel fare, you scroll through various pages, readin…

I liked it well enough but only recommend it on sale. It's pretty short, and there's a lot of repeating dialogue for the 8 endings, but I have to give praise to it even having 8 endings, even if I think the story itself was pretty rushed and had random twists. The CGs themselves are nice and you get used to the tumblr-esque vibe of the sprites. The main selling point here is the writing, I think. There's a lot of visceral descriptions of gore and some good flashback sequences that help us piece together the mystery of the night and the bigger picture of why Nick is even there in a really cool way. I cringed at a lot of the descriptions in the best way, and I like a lot of body horror stuff. Only issue I really had, and almost left a negative review on this for, was with the characters themselves. Nick and Grayson were super hostile to Felix and from my experience of the game, I actually really liked Felix. It felt like he got a lot of abuse from the other two in a weird, hypocritical way purely for having less empathy and not torturing himself like they did. A lot of the time, I felt myself going "What? Nick, no, why are we being a ♥♥♥♥ to him right now?". His overly hostile…

I think the best part is how simple it is to figure out whats *been* happening before the end, and it makes you let your guard down right before everything goes down right at the end where youre blindsided by the consequences of your seemingly innocuous actions
