About Deadly Footprints

One winter night you find yourself being relentlessly pursued by a blood-thirsty murderer. You stumble upon a shadowy hedge maze and dash inside, thinking it might be your ticket to safety, but the killer is not deterred by the maze's labyrinthine twists and turns, and eagerly follows you in.
Your only way out is to go back the way you came in, but the killer lurks between you and freedom, and every step you take creates a trail that leads him straight to you.
Create multiple trails to confuse and mislead the pursuing murderer. Use snowshoes to hide your tracks and hedge clippers to carve new paths through the maze. Will you outsmart the killer, or will you become another victim in the haunting snowscape?
The nightmare begins now.

This is a pretty neat game. The puzzles are pretty unique, and often I would find myself getting trapped by the spooky murderer man (Spoiler alert he has a knife OH GOD hE HAS A KNIFE HELP HES TRYING TO STEAL MY FREAK GET THIS MONSTER AWAY FROM ME) I would recommend this game for some quick fun, as the game isn't super long. This game gets 5 BIG BOOMS

Fun puzzle game about running away from a killer that is chasing you through a dark maze. It may seem too easy in the beginning, but once you need to find items before escaping then it begans making you feel very nervous and anxious about it.

Deadly Footprints is nothing short of a pixelated masterpiece—a nerve-shredding, heart-pounding tour de force that redefines the horror genre in a top-down 2D format. From the moment you step into its snow-laden maze, every footstep becomes a calculated risk, each echoing crunch in the snow a harbinger of impending doom. The genius of its design lies in the relentless killer who shadows your every move, turning your own footprints into a chilling breadcrumb trail leading to your demise. With tools like tools to mask your trail and forge new paths, the game offers a sublime blend of strategy and sheer terror. It's a symphony of suspense and ingenuity, where survival hinges on your wits and nerve. Deadly Footprints doesn't just set the bar for indie horror—it obliterates it, leaving players breathless and begging for more. A true triumph in interactive storytelling and atmospheric dread.

It's a game would feel at home on my Windows 95 PC. The mazes are simple and the drip-feed of mechanics was good and never felt overwhelming. However, the hedge clippers are incredibly OP and broke my need to backtrack and risk encountering the Stalker at all. It sometimes seemed like the Stalker lost my character quite often because I would then see him patrolling the beginning area over and over again, which decreased the tension or the feeling of needing to "keep moving." I wondered if it might be a big related to the number of steps the AI can "see". It was a short game clocking in at just over an hour but that's what I expected for the cost. Overall, it was a fun little game.
