Deadly Rain is such a low-effort and poorly-tested shooter, a physically draining experience to sit through, that the final nail in the coffin came when a bolt-action rifle was acquired around round seven. One would expect this to be a powerful yet slow-firing weapon, that requires careful aiming to bring down a heavy zombie. The gun can be fired like a semi-automatic rifle, the reloading animation completely glitching as five bullets are fired in 2 seconds. Such a ridiculous oversight is emblematic of the whole of Deadly Rain, a nauseatingly claustrophobic and repetitive zombie game that no one should experience. It is very likely that this exists as nothing more than a cheap cash grab from unassuming customers who confuse this for a fun and functioning CoD Zombies homage.
A homage to COD: Zombies & RE ruined by bugs and problems...
I'd really like to recommend the game, it's great, well made and a lot of fun (up to a point), I even know the game's dev, super nice guy. But there are so many problems, bugs and unfinished things that makes me not recommend it. Considering that the game bought assets to make the game and costs this much is the biggest problem of all. Even a game that I know and have been developed for 6 years doesn't cost that much, in fact it's barely half that. With that in mind, I'll take into account that I'm analyzing a game that costs $19. The totalitarian Soviet regime begins a project where they develop a hallucinogenic gas capable of distorting reality and spreading fear and panic to those who go against the state. After years, the project was created and antidotes were distributed only to those who adhered to the regime. To spread the gas, n…

I am a fan of wave-based arena shooters, and this game delivered exactly what I wanted. The background lore, the ambience, the immersion and the overall atmosphere are well thought and well realized, the enemies are threatening, the weapons are numerous and feel powerful, and the map is pretty big and fully explorable, even the buildings can be accessed and used as cover, which is not trivial at all. The game is undoubtedly well made and very fun, I think I'll keep playing it for a while, so my review is positive for sure. But... I'm sorry, but for honesty sake I have to say this: the price is WAAAAAAAY exaggerated. All the assets in this game are pre-made and purchased, I have seen them countless times in Unity games, so asking 20 euros for a game where nothing has been made from scratch is simply insane. I precise that this is NOT an asset-flip, all the assets are used very well, meaning that each of them has been cleverly inserted in the game's world, not randomly as we often see in asset-flips. And the game, as I said, is overall very well made and very fun, that's why I would have gladly spent up to 5 euros for it. But, let's be honest, 20 euros is too much for an arena shoote…

A competent wave shooter. for the price I cant complain too much. My main grudge are the one hit kill explosive enemies and the lack of projectile enemies that would add a proper challenge besides running back and shoot.

I am a big fan of Zombie, survival and horror games. I saw this game on Steam on sale for $4.79 so i had to get it. I got the game on my steam deck and it runs very well for it's listing to be listed as unknown for compatibility on the steam deck. This should be changed immediately to steam deck verified. I like the story of what happened and the visuals and sounds are great for this game. I personally think that this game had the potential to be a great game had the devs decided to make this a campaign story driven game instead of a wave based game. I still enjoyed this game as is so i will give it a like but i can tell you for certain that this game would have been a lot better as a story based game. I can imagine maps like the one already on the game in addition to under ground mines, abandoned sub ways, and train stations. Abandoned Police Station, and Hospital etc, and all while wearing the gas mask and the heavy rain outside.
