"Death Dojo" is a badly made VR tech demo (with possibly flipped assets). What do you do in the game? Wave your arms around to hack up samurai monster assets or something. Seriously, just wave your arms around, that's it, that's the whole "game". Steam Direct was a mistake. This feels more like a tech demo or a project smacked together hurriedly to try make a kind of minimum viable product just good enough to pass the developers unambitious idea and shove it into Steam Direct to see if you can actually pay and publish junk through Steam Direct. Yeah, you can. Is this good for gamers? Nope. I'm not sure if this is an asset flip, but it's one of those cases where the assets just look much better than the rest of the quality of the game... a glaring inconsistency.  There's no evidence, but as always, the biggest problem with asset flips besides the plagiarism is the deplorably low quality of the other aspects of the game, and even if the game assets are genuinely created for the game, the quality of the rest of the game is indistinguishable from that of asset flips. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design..…

Death Dojo is a compact virtual reality sword-fighting experience that concentrates almost entirely on the tension of confronting a dangerous opponent at close range. Instead of presenting the player as an unstoppable samurai capable of effortlessly defeating waves of enemies, the game reduces the concept to a much more intimate confrontation. Developed and published by Ken Watanabe, it is deliberately modest in scope, placing greater importance on anticipation, physical reactions, and the fear of being struck than on elaborate progression systems or lengthy adventures. The central idea is refreshingly straightforward. You enter a dojo armed with a katana and face an opponent who gradually approaches before launching an attack. Survival depends on observing the enemy, maintaining control of your weapon, defending yourself, and finding the right opportunity to land a decisive strike. The objective may sound simple, but virtual reality makes the situation considerably more personal. Having an armed opponent enter your immediate space creates tension that conventional third-person or monitor-based sword games rarely reproduce in quite the same manner.
