About Wrath of the Samurai
Wrath of the Samurai is a made for VR strategy hack and slash game that takes inspiration from old hack and slash titles and implements them into virtual reality, you are a Ronin samurai pitted against thousands of enemies.
Slash your way to victory with sword, shuriken or bow and rack up as many kills as you can for bigger rewards!
Wrath of the Samurai has a campaign mode as well as an arena mode for those who just want to kill as much as possible as quickly as possible, with realistic sword physics you are in full control of your actions.
Wrath of the Samurai is currently on prolonged hiatus due to lack of interest from players, my hard drive containing all the game files was destroyed in a freak accident, It will be reborn in the form of a new and better game in the future, for now it is what it is and will be revived at a much later date, for now enjoy the cheap price for the cheap game.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
Please note: I received a free Steam key through the Steam Curator Connect program. I highly recommend just watching the video review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/TpLBDwzT0xU You don't really need me telling you how bad this game is. You can just see the video above. However, if you choose to take my word for it, let me explain why it's bad in my humble opinion. This is a very basic arena-style hack n slash action game for VR. There is no story other than a text blurb at the very start. The combat mechanic is basic. You can wiggle your motion controller and be able to cheese enemies behind any hallway or door. You'll want to commit Seppuku after about 30 minutes of playing this game ... if you're a very patient person with a high self-esteem otherwise it'll be much sooner. You have three weapons: a sword, bow & arrow, & shooting stars. Unsheathing the sword is the best part of this game. Seriously. There's no physics or feedback upon swinging your sword. The only difficulty is the sheer amount of enemies all around you and the boredom you'll feel after looping around the game arena. The bow & arrow mech…15 found this helpful
Honestly overpriced for what you're getting right now, needs a fair bit of work as it's a bit of a bug fest atm. ideas there just released to early IMO and should have had a rather better testing stage before release. See full review in link: https://youtu.be/v7C09Oz6xEA Drop the price to under ten dollars and improve the general game play and you will have a half decent game. Right now it's just to expensive and to buggy to recommend.7 found this helpful
This game reminded me heavily of the old school days of Dynasty Warriors (Or for those more well versed in the series Samurai Warriors) You get hoards of enemies to cut your way through and gates to stop them from spawning. To this end I think the game accomplishes exactly what it set out to do. I personally am uncomfortable with highly realistic VR games where you kill other people as I find it sickening. Not in the " I find killing people in video games morally reprehensible" way but more actually feeling sick as my brain watches me stab someone. This does a good job of letting you hack and slash in VR without feeling like a sadist as your blade gets stuck in the flesh of your enemy that you do not even know why you want them dead. I have so fare been able to find replayability by giving myself different challenges and I look forward to future options allowing more such challenges. I would say if you wanna play a game where you can fight for high scores with your friends and you want to try it in early access. This one fits the bill. If you want a hyper realistic and fully completed game try something outside of early access. This game will likely never be a hyper realistic V…3 found this helpful
