About Deja Vu
Welcome to Déjà Vu, a scifi puzzle-platformer where you rely on the actions of your past to shape your future.
Take control of Grant, who will create clones of himself based on prior recorded actions. These clones will help him escape traps, open closed paths and traverse a world that can play loose with the laws of time and physics.
Trapped in the future, Grant must collect relics from his time to power up an experimental time machine that may be his only way back to his life in the past. Along the way he will master the machine's abilities, creating past versions of himself to help him overcome his obstacles.
Create physical recordings of yourself in the form of clones, giving you a way to do multiple actions at once. You can also manipulate these recordings by pausing your clone. Or rewinding yourself back to the start of a recording.
Puzzles can be in the form of teleporting platforms, locked gates, spikes. Collecting relics can also be a puzzle in of itself, as some relics are in a state where only your clone can collect it. You will also encounter dilation fields, which are areas where time moves differently, whether slowing things down or speeding things up.
Each level has a completion time and leaderboard, so you can compete with your friends to find the best way to finish each one the fastest.

Well the description promises "mind bending puzzles". It Definitely delivered on that front. The time travel ability I initially thought was a bit "gimmicky" but as the levels progressed, new variations of the time travel mechanic were introduced which gave a sense of progression. Only 4 levels so far but each one has introduced unique puzzles and new iterations of the time travel ability to use within them. I'm curious to see what else he does with the time travel mechanic. The game is still in early access, so at the moment it still has some jankyness,. a few collision issues here and there, and a few bugs when using the time travel in certain areas (although admittedly i was actively trying to break the game and cheese my way through some of the puzzles). From what I can see though, the developer has been actively patching them. All in all I think it's a great concept. It would definitely be a good game to speedrun even in its current unfinished state. I'm eagerly awaiting more levels.1 found this helpful
This game makes me mad. In the best way possible. While in its current iteration there's only 4 levels. These levels can take a deceptively long time to finish. The puzzles are just that deviously designed. The abilities your character, Grant, can use are very fresh and unlike anything I've ever played before. Admittedly the game is still not complete. I'd love to see a tidier interface for one. And some more levels of course. And obviously there's some bugs right now. It is in early access after all. I look forward to seeing what future iterations of this clever game by Continental Games.1 found this helpful
