Die Young: Prologue

[h1] A bit lackluster for a prologue. Movement is still smooth and decent but story in this one sucks m finger. This is one level only, but you have some level of freedom and how you proceed it's entirely up to you. If you wanna be stealthy go ahead, AI is really bad and easy to trick. Overall you can eliminate most people with crossbow. Boss is a bit tough but just nerf it from above until it's defeated. A few things can be crafted but mostly molotov is gonna be your best bet. Generally I recommend to check out the full game, prologue not so much. [/h1]

All set in a world that is often quite open compared to typical FPS corridor-based shooters. Compared to many FPS games you really do have a sense of agency, with lots of ways to approach challenges, resources to manage that might change how you would proceed, etcetera. It starts out in an almost completely linear sewer system, which is sort of necessary in order to give you a chance to experience the game in the right order for the tutorial to work. Then you end up in a cliffside enemy base that you can approach and infiltrate in almost any order. This cliffside portion is the majority of gameplay and is pretty great. The final area is a boss battle that is quite punishing, especially if you don’t know to prepare for it, and how to prepare for it. The game gives you a few hints about what preparation might be useful, but it’s easy to ignore. This would be somewhat forgivable if the game had a good save system. However, it does not.
