Broken controls and unbalanced gunplay sound bad, but it’s possible to tolerate them in this little platformer. The story is basic, but very standard for a platformer. You play as an everyday toilet stall guy whose girlfriend has been kidnapped by a cockroach. Naturally, your heroic journey involves jumping into a toilet to save her. First of all, the game’s biggest threat are its controls. If you're playing with just a keyboard, you're in for a rough time. The protagonist's movement seems to run at a different frame rate than everything else, creating a sluggish, almost underwater-like feel. While enemies and hazards—like dripping liquid—operate at normal speed, your character moves at a snail’s pace, making precise platforming an absolute nightmare. Falling feels unnaturally slow, climbing ladders takes ages, and dodging obstacles (such as spike platforms or crumbling floors) becomes nearly impossible. Strangely, this issue can be fixed with a gamepad. If you have a gamepad with an XInput/DirectInput switch, toggling it miraculously repairs the entire control scheme, including keyboard input. However, you have to do this every single time you start a new level or respawn aft…

Deadly Blue is an unusual indie action platformer created by Breading Games that embraces absurdity from the very beginning. The game’s premise alone makes it stand out in the crowded world of independent platformers. Players assume control of an animated plastic toilet badge that has mysteriously gained life and consciousness through the power of love. This unlikely hero is suddenly thrown into a chaotic adventure when a cockroach kidnaps its partner, prompting a strange rescue mission across dangerous environments filled with bizarre enemies and obstacles. While the narrative is intentionally simple and humorous, it sets the tone for a game that does not take itself seriously and instead focuses on quirky ideas and unconventional charm. At its core, Deadly Blue follows the structure of a classic side-scrolling action platformer. Players guide the protagonist through a series of levels that combine combat, platforming, and environmental hazards. Each stage introduces new enemies and challenges that must be overcome in order to progress. The gameplay emphasizes quick reactions and careful movement as players jump across platforms, avoid traps, and battle hostile creatures along th…
