A soulless black flag remake
With risk of causing blasphemy, I think the original black flag is more fun and interesting than any other AC game, including the Ezio trilogy. It's different and to this day, the only pirate game I have genuinely enjoyed. I have zero interest in the franchise anymore though. It feels like soulless slop at this point. When Ubisoft announced black flag resynced, I was excited but also very skeptical. Ultimately, I decided to give it a chance.
What still holds up
The main story is still good. I like most of the characters and Kenway's arc of being motivated purely by greed, but realizing later on how lonely he is still works. I felt genuine empathy during the sad moments when Edward was reminiscing about all the friends he lost. It's not easy to make me care that much about video game characters, so credit to the writers at Ubisoft for that. Music is still good as well and the naval combat still works fine as well. These things were all in the original game though. What does this remake add that I like? -Improved graphics. It looks exactly like black flag, only sharper and prettier. All good there. -Quality of life improvements,…

Somehow Ubisoft found a way to make one of the greatest pirate games ever made even prettier. Resynced honestly proves that some classics only need a bit of polishing. When Resynced was announced, I was absolutely certain Ubisoft was going to ♥♥♥♥ it all up, but you know what? They proved me wrong. The Caribbean looks absolutely beautiful, naval combat feels like the original, only less clunky, with a few extra additions that give you more firepower, and Edward's journey is still one of the franchise's strongest stories, now with even more side content to enjoy. While the changes to combat weren't necessary at all and, if anything, were a step backwards for the Assassin's Creed franchise, I have to admit that if you've ever wanted to feel like a pirate, this is the best game for that experience. That said, please don't sleep on the original. It's still absolutely worth playing if you haven't already.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has honestly had me hooked. It’s really hard for a game to keep my attention these days, but I keep finding myself wanting to come back and play more. The exploration, ship combat, and overall pirate atmosphere are incredibly enjoyable. There have been a few annoying bugs here and there, but nothing that has completely ruined the experience for me. Overall, it’s a really fun game and definitely worth playing.

I am a pirate, you are a pirate, you must kill the whales to be a better pirate, this is known. Does it feel good to kill the whales? Maybe. Will I continue to do so because I must, yes. Will Edward jump in every direction besides the one you want, yes. Is it a skill issue? God no it must be Ubisoft's fault. Sometimes the ships your attacking will just vanish, however, this is of course accurate to history, god took them because they were weak. I'm sure this must have happened in real life and that's why it was implemented. My only issue with the game is that Edward is British. I would have hoped that they would have fixed that issue from the original. Maybe when its remastered again in the year 2036 the devs will address this glaring issue.
