Directionless is an experimental Virtual Reality horror game. It tries out a variety of ways of using Virtual Reality to unnerve and disorient the player, with carefully crafted audio working with an interactive environment to pull you into a nightmarish world where you can't trust anything.
You'll begin in a harmless room, but after falling asleep and waking up at midnight, things that looked harmless before may seem a little bit more menacing, and soon enough the unsettling occurrences begin. But the environment isn't the only threat: your own mind is liable to work against you. Directionless, in its core, is a collected effort to temporarily destroy your grip on reality.
While it is a short experience, replay value in Directionless comes from sharing it with friends. For those with little experience in VR, Directionless can blow their minds. Just make sure you're there to catch them if they fall over!

Short, a bit broken. In the beginning the screen is black, had to open the Dashboard to see where the book was and walk to it little by little. Picking stuff up doesn't work too well so i had to flail my hand around until i felt a vibration, indicating I can pick something up. It's pretty straight-forward from there, the experience lasted 9 minutes maybe less if you can get past the black screen faster. Don't recommend this even for the low price, decided to try it considering the developers other works.1 found this helpful
A neat little thing that would have hit harder if I hadn't been playing VR for a few years. Less than 10 minutes long. Just a straight up black screen in the headset until I somehow managed to pick up the book after switching to my desktop view multiple times to figure out where it was. After that the black screen issue was gone and I stood around for a bit while some interesting stuff goes on around me. That being said, this was a very early VR game and the black screen bug could potentially be down to me using a Quest 3. I assume that could have some tech issues but I don't know this sorta stuff. So I won't go hard on it. Give it a shot, or don't.

Would get directionless again/10 But really though this is an audiovisual masterpeice that really makes you feel directionless and dont get me started on the story which implies that vertigo is just a game within the directionless world which also implies that blueshift is also just a game in the directionless universe. In terms of gameplay it may at first seem shallow but look closer and you will find that directionless is actually a deeply strategic speedrunning game. For example if you going the pillow around you will be lifted from the house instead of going grocery shopping which saves you 5 minutes. It was that my fellow reveiwers only played the game once and missed out on all its depth and simply derided it as "an experience" where all you do is stand in place and watch things happen for ten minutes.
