On my 7th birthday, my grandma presented me with a hand-knitted cape. As I put it on and looked in the mirror, a spark was ignited within me I knew that I wanted to become a hero. And thus began my great adventure.I embarked on this journey full of hope and wonder, but I soon realized that life can be frustrating and the gap between my expectation and reality was vast. But there was one constant that I could always count on - the love of my family. It was like a cape that blew in the wind behind me, guiding me through the toughest times.
This experience has been the inspiration for this game, which is like chatting with a new friend. In the form of a game, we will together go back to our childhood, searching for precious memories. The game will feature different gameplay styles like lonely flying, fierce battle, nerve-wracking parkour, as well as various kinds of puzzles. It will be an emotional journey about love, dreams, courage and even silly memories, that I hope will inspire you as much as it did me

(waving cape) is best described as a narrated visual novel with a few game-like elements in it. It features graphics artwork that is a highly stylized and hand drawn. The few gaming elements are mainly point and click using the mouse, on a few occasions dragging objects. The story revolves around the developer themself and as such appears to be very personalized. It is reminiscent of a comic strip like Calvin and Hobbes, where many of the story elements are straight out of a child’s life growing up. Waving cape only has a few options, language and screen resolution. It could use a volume option as the music is very loud and manually turning down the Windows volume is pretty much required. There is a sort of tutorial, which is presented as a "special gift", perhaps to entice new players to actually do the tutorial? As the game is mainly mouse click driven there is no need for keyboard or other controls. Waving cape is an episodic type of game where each episode sort of build upon previous episodes. Lovely! At the core of it, it's a series of short puzzles/mini-games that follow up with main amazing Story, but it's so much more than that. It's an interactive tale, that's absolutely gorgeous and soothing and alive, all at once. There are no difficult puzzles, just some basic pattern matching and memorization, and a few sound-based sequences. Overall it's a worthwhile experience for those that can appreciate hand-drawn animation. The animations are beautiful, the drawings are cute, the sounds and music are delightful...there's no reason to not get it. I highly recommend it!4 found this helpful
It was fun! I haven't played such a touching game in a long time. The story was truly gripping, and at times I drew parallels to my own life. The music is top-notch. I'll definitely be listening to a couple of the tracks again. And the eye-catching hand-drawn graphics are the icing on the cake. Many thanks to the author, I wish there were more games like this!
A lovely telling of the story of the creator full of a bunch of cute mini-games. Pros: - a neat 4th wall-breaking story about the creator - Cute Animation - Progress bar to let you know how much to go on missions or when you are in a cut scene Cons: - The localization script needs a little work - AI voice for English really takes you out of it because it has no emotion - Games are very simple It's not a bad little romp but definitely is a bit simple and sometimes the story is a little everywhere. It's definitely got some value but the voice acting and translation really take away from the experience so on an English playthrough, I give 3/5 thrown woks.
Good idea for the game but terrible experience of playing...
