What Steam players say

Players appreciate the creative drawing mechanics and the fun social experience of sharing and battling custom creatures with friends, finding it surprisingly engaging despite its simple concept. However, newcomers criticize the confusing initial setup, the presence of a cash shop in what feels like it should be a premium game, and note that the battle system lacks strategic depth. Most agree the game works best as a casual, multiplayer experience for players who enjoy art and don't mind the drawing requirements.
I'm not sure if I could recommend this to everyone, but I have been enjoying my time with the game and I think others who enjoy drawing might get some enjoyment out of it as well. The drawing app is nice and being able to battle with your creations gives purpose to drawing them in the first place. I also like the tiering system as it gives value to both detail drawings you put a lot of time into but also gives you reason to just make very quick doodles, especially when they're fun little joke ones. The combat isn't ground-breaking but it's a good blend of having enough depth to engage with while not being too overwhelming. It's makes for a nice justification to spend the time and energy to make the drawings in the first place. The fact the winner gets to take one of their opposing creations permanently is bitter sweet. There is a fun element to having a keepsake of the people you battle against. But it does stink when you're the one loosing the creature, at least when it's one you've invested a lot of time into. But I respect what they're going for with the system and you at least get the option to export any of your creations as an image file. So if you make a drawing you put …3 found this helpful
I've been waiting for a game like this since magic pen-gel/ graffiti kingdom on the ps2. its also a great way to share art even though time windows are constrained. I'm not that sad about losing my doodles because they are just at the most 20 mins or less sketches. i do recommend a drawing tablet because drawing with a mouse takes longer in my opinion.2 found this helpful
I have previously played the demo of Doodle Dice Monsters and later purchased it at full release. I'm not the type of person who's really into the whole "dice rolling" thing but while playing this game it actually seemed pretty fun to have dice control your fate. Combat is pretty straightforward where you can request to duel a friend or look for a random to play against. I find that the matchmaking is pretty long but that's just dependent on how many people are online. The whole drawing concept is cool. The amount of time you take to draw your character corresponds to what tier it will be. There is an in game store but it's mainly a cosmetic thing which you can use in game coins to purchase too. The turn based combat is pretty neat and you never know what the other person is going to pick which makes it random. I enjoy stealing other people's Doodlemons but feel sad when I see mine go. Overall I really enjoy the combat system and the drawing system is very smooth. Definitely ideal to play with friends.1 found this helpful
Pretty good overall, It's not the deepest game, but seeing everyone's doodles is fun and the combat seems fair enough. Though the type chart shouldn't move. I have gone to check the chart a few times just for it to move and make me accidentally select the wrong attack.1 found this helpful
Trap cant catch ♥♥♥♥
I've been following the development of this game for a long while now, and have been incredibly pleased with the finished product! Good for little bursts of playtime or for long play sessions with friends! My Kamen Rider OC defeated Goku, which is 10/10 gameplay really. BUY THE ASHBRIGHT PALETTE!!!
