Edge of Darkness is a challenging twin-stick action roguelike with solid gunplay, diverse weapons, and varied enemy encounters that rewards skilled reflexes and methodical play. Players praise its dynamic music, polished graphics, Steam Deck compatibility, and good replayability through procedural generation, though some feel the content is limited and note that experienced players may progress quickly through it. Common complaints center on missing UI polish, inconsistent weapon and item balance, and a general lack of depth that may leave veterans of similar games like Enter the Gungeon wanti

It requires a methodical approach with one eye on the next level and chapter. A ton of weapons and inventory can be used to slay a fairly varied roster of enemies and partake in solid end of chapter boss battles. Procedural generation together with RNG is a big factor in providing replayabiity and longevity, while affecting the likelihood of success. A dynamic, challenging Bullet hell + Action roguelike + Twin Stick Shooter with high interactivity, lots of weapons and various monsters. Save humanity from alien invasion! Gameplay: https://youtu.be/aXdqfHrZVv4 You choose a hero and start your run. Great twin stick shooter. Works great on Steam deck. No bugs or glitches so far.2 found this helpful
Enjoyable Action-Roguelite in the likes of "Enter the Gungeon" or "Nuclear Throne". There is some missing UI polishment and mediocre balance of guns/items, but the gun fights are fun. Thumbs up!1 found this helpful
If you've played ETG or similar top down bullet hell games you'll blast right through it. I've spent an hour and a half in game and have already beaten it and unlocked most of the characters. Very fun just not much there. Can't say I regret buying it, but definitely wait for a sale.
Was pleasantly surprised by Edge of Dead. Multiple characters choose from at the start with more to unlock as you progress. Each with different starting guns and items. Unique enemy and weapons design. Randomly generated level layouts that change every time you restart. Great music and sound effects. Very easy to pick up and play, but at the same time VERY challenging. A fun little game with lot's of reply value. Here is my first impression of Edge of Dead in more detail: https://rb.gy/33ypcp
