Interesting mechanics. The game would have been really cool if they optimized the horrible input latency and the fact that developers expected us all to have 19 fingers available at the same time smashing the controller in a fraction of second. I am not exaggerating. This could have been a hell of a great game but destroyed by utter trash controls thanks to developers who refuse to finish the optimization. DigiPen though so I am not necessarily surprised.

Elemental Surge is a concise 2D action-platformer that combines fantasy combat, precision movement, environmental challenges, and a gradually expanding collection of elemental powers. Developed by Studio Nimbus and published by DigiPen Institute of Technology, it carries the focused scope of a student-created project while still presenting a complete central concept. The adventure revolves around ascending a dangerous castle, reclaiming lost elemental abilities, defeating hostile soldiers, and eventually challenging the Fallen King. Rather than attempting to build an enormous world, the game concentrates on a straightforward progression where each stage of the climb introduces greater danger and brings the player closer to the final objective. The elemental system is easily the most distinctive part of the experience. Fire, lightning, and earth abilities gradually expand what the protagonist can accomplish, providing a tangible feeling of becoming stronger during the journey. Fireballs give players a practical ranged attack, lightning adds another aggressive magical option, and earth-powered punches provide a more forceful close-range approach. Fun game until you close it. Every time i closed it i had to restart from the beginning

Super unresposive controls. Terrible animations. I don't really understand how the devs want the attack to work either. Why do I just hold out the knife and stand still? Pointless run back to the first boss, too. I alt-tabbed and the game restarted from the beginning so I guess I'm done with it. Was this the slacker group lol

Saves doesn't work, if you go to menu - you start from the beginning. Decided to explore, and fall through a map? Too bad. Core mechanics are promising though
