The battle system in DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined has undergone significant changes. Turn the tides of battle with new vocational perks. Each vocation has its own unique ability, from all-out attacks to those that support your allies. Battle speed adjustments and an auto-battle feature are also available. Battles can progress without interruptions between each turn, depending on the tactics selected for the protagonist and allies. While on the field, players can pre-emptively strike monsters and instantly defeat them If the monster is weaker than the party.
Customize your playstyle with the new Moonlighting mechanic. Having two vocations assigned at once provides access to the skills, magic spells, and unique perks from both.

Fairly simple gameplay but enjoyable nonetheless.
Dragon quest art style at it's peak. They should do DQ9 in this style.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is a Dragon Quest game made for the current generation of fans and players, rather than for old-school Dragon Quest veterans who liked their adventures long, punishing, and just a little humiliating while the Dragonlord watched from the corner. The game includes plenty of quality-of-life improvements that are honestly necessary by modern standards. Unfortunately, I can no longer see myself playing the original version of Dragon Quest VII. With a family, I simply do not have the time for it anymore, but this version is much more manageable. The graphics are genuinely fantastic. Even with all settings turned up, there is still some noticeable shadow pop-in, which can be quite distracting. The music is as excellent as ever, especially with the fully symphonic orchestral soundtrack. It is a shame that some content was removed, but it was probably necessary to keep the game accessible and reasonably paced. The achievements, on the other hand, are absolutely dreadful. The worst one is the achievement that requires you to collect every item. Some items are locked behind an incredibly childish memory minigame, and you have to grind quite a bit to obtain…
