Ember Knight Solitaire

Probably one of the more complex solitaire games I’ve played so far, [i]Ember Knight Solitaire[/i] doesn’t restrict itself to this genre, borrowing instead mechanics from Match 3, Blackjack, Hidden Objects and topping all of the above with a nice RPG feel. Naturally, it contains all the elements that you’d expect in any decent solitaire game: power-ups that recharge with your matches, bonus cards and jokers, special cards on the board that you’d have to unlock with a key / hammer etc or that require to be matched several times based on their number or suite etc. There are plenty of levels (200 in fact) in which you can experience all sorts of combinations from these mechanics. Additionally, you can also choose between 3 difficulty settings (Beginner / Normal / Expert) and 3 different game modes: the classic solitaire where you need to select a card one unit higher / lower than the current one, a pair solitaire - in which you need to make pairs of the same card, and a mode that I’ve never encountered before requiring matches of two cards that add to a 14 unit total. I am a huge supporter of Revills Games and own all of them loving the original artworks throughout their games and this one is no exception. However some notes on the game-play both positive and negative from 9 hours of game-play so far. The positive; the artwork is as usual beautiful and I really loved getting to chose my character at the beginning. Gave it a rpg feel to a solitaire game. That is a very neat addition. Also the mix of game-play within the game (not just solitaire but match 3 and a lite card battler as well)! The soundtrack is good but their is no voice overs. That can be good or bad. I know in Chef Solitaire there is a voice over for the main character which I find was really well done and added to the game but since there is choose your own character at the beginning I am guessing this is why it's just text based. There is also lots of cool power ups to buy and as you progress earning coins is not that much of a struggle. The negative; I found it frustrating that there was no buying of jokers or wilds. The end game as you go along gets really challenging for some levels and the deck you start out on (the number of cards) just doesn't stretch far enough if wh…

Ehh... It's okay... But why doesn't this game have a level "Restart"? After all, you wont always get great cards right away. Not to mention that "Wild Card" drops are rather rare (even on Casual mode) and you will be playing some levels 10+ times. That and cards don't really stand out that much. Especially "7" and "8". They are both depicted as blonde elves and unless you can tell them super easily apart, once you play for a while -> You will most likely fuse them together. I just got tired of using all power ups per level, then Wild Cards... For little to nothing in return. It's not bad, it's just my motivation faded after taking nearly two hours on 2-3 levels. Zzz.

I have a couple games from this company, and have enjoyed them. This game was fun, until I came to a level where there was a freezing problem. It can be worked around, but, not satisfactorily. In the discussions section I saw that someone had the same problem. It was written in Feb. 2022 and the devs responded. I tried top shake them a couple of times and no response. I assume this game has been abandoned. It was fun up to the problem point. Because of the bug and lack of response I give it a resounding no.

Well, I think I have an addiction. I'm addicted to golf solitaire games. This is my third Revills solitaire game, and I'm not disappointed. It has everything I'm looking for in a casual, solitaire card playing game. High-low option, power-ups, battles, nice scenery, achievements. The only thing missing is the option to restart the level without having to skip through the remaining cards or go back to the main menu. Also, like previous card games from Revills that I bought, the mini games are useless, but you can disable them. So the question is, do I recommend this game? Yes, and I plan on buying the few others that come with achievements.

Hi -- this game is not a true Solitaire game @ all. It has lots of mini games throughout. It starts with a hidden object then Solitaire -- mini game during Solitaire + a battle type Solitaire. No TY this game not for me. I recommended this game because the music, graphics + story are great. I love Kings, Queens type of story so I thought win/win -- I was wrong but others will love it.
