About Emiko's Pledge
There has been a long term conflict between the Ettaze and Trettaze states since the time when the Ettaze ruler decided to accept the fact that the human beings had the rights to co-exist with the demons in the Ettaze state where the majority of the state were the demons. This was the kind gesture of the ruler who gave the human beings the equal opportunities to join the universities and have a working career in the state even when some demons had a notion of looking down upon the humans. Under the leadership of Gabbon, the Ettaze ruler, the humans and demons learned to co-exist with each other which the ruler of Trettaze state could never accept.
The ruler of the Trettaze state started to attack them in every possible way, banning imports and exports, barring tourists from the state to enter the territory etc. This had led to a war breaking out between the two states. However, Trettaze was the first one to officially declare the war against the Ettaze and threatened to kill all of the humans and the demons of the state.
The ruler of the Ettaze had a hunch that a war between the states would break out anytime. He hired the best warriors of the state, the team of the three Demon Girls called Tri-Demon Girls who were said to be the strongest team of warriors in the state, in order to eliminate the intruders at all costs. Meanwhile, Emiko, the granddaughter of the Ettaze ruler, decided to step in at her own will and helped out the Tri-Demon girls team in her own way in order to protect the state against the intruders. Even as a half-demon she had a strong will and determination to achieve something big.
Emiko with her own "Devil Weapon" begins her journey to defeat the enemies, and to become the best warrior in the state and abroad.

What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players criticize Emiko's Pledge for severe performance issues, poor controls, and persistent technical flaws including fixed aspect ratio and non-rebindable keys that plague the developer's other releases. While some appreciate the game's low price, challenging difficulty, and features like multiple weapons and visual novel elements, others find the story writing awkward and the gameplay plagued by cheap deaths and design problems that undermine the experience.
Emiko's Pledge is a template flip from Anamik Majumdar, who keeps reskinning the same lame GameMaker Studio game templates and re-releasing them on Steam with a few minor changes. The GameMaker Studio templates he keeps re-releasing are just basic retro pixel (couldn't he rip off a template with proper graphics??) 2D top down/platformer stealth/action games. Here's some other copy + pastes from Anamik of exactly the same game template: The 2D retro pixel platformer template:

Balloon Azuna
Boon Boon
Christmas Cats Revenge
Electronic World Z
Fight For Love
Jaxon The Thief
Keatz: The Lonely Bird
Mission XAM
NightmareZ
Orange Santa
Smash Halloween Pumpkins: The Challenge
Super Strawberry Man
The Christmas Gifts
The Hero of Bangaona
The Valley of Super Flowers
Yui Tui
Zack Y
There's also this other template which has been copied+pasted many times: The 2D top down retro pixel stealth/darkness template:

Abandoned Croxon Mansion
Axizon Labs: Zombies
Gaze At Maze
Ghost In The Barn House
Gregor Hills Haunted Hospital
Haunted Jail: Alcatas
Heltons Haunted Hotel [*…11 found this helpful
Poorly optimized game. If it's not a cut scene with text or the moment you die, this game chugs along like you're underwater. I thught this would be a fun little time waster for $0.59 USD (sale price) with an easy achievement list. If the game were fixed to run at more than 10 fps it may actually be somewhat entertaining. As it is I can only suggest this for fellow achievement hunters (until the frame rate issue is resolved, and even then I'd wait for a sale).3 found this helpful

Is this the second coming of Orange Santa? No, mainly because the meme factor isn't here. (Anamik made a fat strawberry game last year that was probably an attempted follow-up, but I haven't played it.) Where E's Pledge stands out compared to its predecessors is its level of technical competence. You get 3 different weapons, double-jumping, and visual novel cutscenes. Most games have none of those features. The problems from previous games persist, however: fixed 4:3 aspect ratio, non-rebindable controls, poorly-animated or non-animated jumping, and bouncing off of the level ceiling. The Kurosawa-esque story makes up for those issues, but they're not growing pains, they're persistent flaws in the developer's codebase that never seem to go away. With the new innovations like the lightning gun and the VN cutscenes, this game reaches a high-water mark and is worth more than the asking price of $1, but I also feel like the next game could be better if the long-standing issues are fixed and the things people (I) like such as blood, weapons, and the VN stuff, continue.2 found this helpful
On the Simpsons, Mr. Burns actually attempts the idiom "Give a thousand monkeys a thousand type writers and soon the will write the greatest novel." Burns' monkeys get close, with a near Dickensian line, substituting 'blurst' for 'worst.' I feel like this game was coded by a thousand monkeys at a thousand keyboards, and 'blurst' best describes it. The grammar, syntax, continuity, and tense in the story are all problematic from the first word. The story is so cringe worthy that you should skip it entirely. Awful writing. The game itself is terrible, but it fakes being a good in a way that is obvious that a three year old would be able to identify. The game is full of cheap deaths, due to poorly designed control inputs and poorly designed gaming in general. Bullets barely hurt you, but come within 6 inches of a fire pit and you will die instantly. Jumping is ludicrous, with double jumping available from the get-go, but it only works about 75% of the time. The worst part comes when trying to jump at the top of the screen. Even on levels that are set in an outdoor environment, with no obstacles above your head, if you touch the top of the screen, it acts like you smashed…
