About Ensign-1
Play the role of Leon Deckard, one of Ensign-1's finest in it's space forces. Through a series of missions, it will be up to you to take back our solar system from the enemy, and you won't need to stay in your fighter to do it. You'll have the freedom to board other ships and stations, plant bombs, and man turrets. Ensign-1 is a tough as nails space combat game built around the idea of being able to leave your space fighter. You'll need to think creatively to make it back alive.
What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players consistently report that Ensign-1 is an abandoned, incomplete game that was released from early access in a broken state and has received no meaningful updates since 2016, still claiming version 0.5 internally. Common complaints include missing or unloading items, broken HOTAS controls, clunky usability, and outdated graphics, with reviewers feeling the developer knowingly released an unfinished product. While one player notes it has potential, the overwhelming consensus is strongly negative, with most recommending potential buyers avoid the game entirely.
This game hit Steam years ago, got some updates in early access, but hasn't seen an update since 12/11/16. As of today, 4/23/18, it claims to be "released," yet still says v0.500 inside the game itself. At the present time, do not buy this.23 found this helpful
"Fully Released" again.... Still in version 0.5 I have owned this game since if first hit Desura, and hasn't really had any updates since then. I would NOT recommend buying this game as it is still in early Alpha.10 found this helpful
Horrible little piece of tripe. The 90s called, they want their graphics back. Clunky usability. If I could return it for my money, I would.2 found this helpful

Ensign-1 is an abandoned/incomplete space combat sim, advertising a series of features that makes Elite: Dangerous look even flatter than it is, but delivering on none of them. Very few games are of such high quality that I would recommend them to other gamers. Some games are made fairly well but fall down in a few places, making me reluctant to be forced to give them a thumbs down, because they deserve a "maybe" option that Steam doesn't offer reviewers. But Ensign-1 makes me wish there was an option to EXTREMELY NOT RECOMMEND. It's unfinished. The developer knew it and dumped it on Steam anyway. Valve thinks that kind of behavior is okay. Outside of this terrible behavior for a morally bankrupt developer, the game itself is unplayable. HOTAS controls aren't mapped properly (something you think a space/flight sim would get right), but can't be remapped, so the game can't be controlled properly. There's no working fullscreen, resolution is fixed and can't be changed. Really basic stuff needed for any game just hasn't been done here. It's inexplicable why Valve would even allow this on Steam. My recommendation? EXTREMELY NOT RECOMMENDED.1 found this helpful
