Everranger is a clever little puzzle game that I enjoyed more than I expected. The basic idea is simple enough, as I control an hourglass shaped piece and try to reach the target while avoiding or capturing other pieces. What makes it interesting is that the other pieces do not openly explain how they move, so I have to figure out their behavior through observation and experimentation. The puzzle design is where the game really shines for me. Each piece follows its own movement rules, and learning those rules becomes just as important as planning my own route. I liked the feeling of watching an enemy move, thinking I understood it, and then realizing I had to adjust my entire plan. The earlier puzzles introduce the concepts naturally, while later ones demand much more careful thinking. I also found the real time element surprisingly interesting. At first the game looks almost turn based because the pieces react after I move, but the cooldown system means the timing can become more complicated. An enemy might get multiple opportunities to move while I am trying to reposition, so I cannot always assume the board will remain exactly as I left it. That gives the puzzles a little more…

Just for the simple reason that I saw that the entire menu is in a language other than English, but still the menu is big and has an "English" button! And is not a nightmare to switch to English!! But the gameplay... I think this developer has something against humanity!... the first levels were ok... then, damn... they follow me every move! Every path... damn, this game is hard! [/b] [/code]
