About Evil Wizard
Evil Wizard is a humor-filled action RPG featuring metroidvania elements and carefully crafted pixel-art environments. As a defeated villain who barely survived a tough fight, you’ll have to face an army of so-called heroes to recover what’s rightfully yours. Rediscover your powers, infiltrate your own castle, unleash devastating spells, and purge your ancestral home of these miserable excuses for an enemy. Are you ready to get your hands dirty? It’s time to be the bad guy for a change!
Face off against hordes of enemies, avoid deadly traps, and solve challenging puzzles as you reclaim the halls of your castle from the heroes that now live within it!

Explore carefully-crafted locations and navigate intricate levels. Use your skills and elements to interact with the in-game world and unlock new paths.

Deal devastating melee blows, unlock earth-shattering spells and dash around the map to crush your foes. You’ll be in full control of every battle!

Control the power of fire, ice, void, lightning, and earth. Mix various elements to unleash devastating attacks and exploit your enemies’ weaknesses!

Fine-tune your character to defeat increasingly more challenging enemies. Upgrade your equipment as you get ready to vanquish an array of bosses, each with their own skills and combat style!

“There are songs that still tell the tale of the heroes’ most daring deeds. After a long battle against the Evil Wizard, the castle he called home was sieged and swarmed and the wretchful minions that served him for generations were slain by the dozens. While the corrupt villain himself managed to escape, the day marked an amazing victory for the forces of good…”

Evil Wizard is a humorous top-down hack and slash where you play as a defeated final boss trying to get revenge and reclaim your castle from the “heroes”. The pixel art looks good, and the game has a nice sense of humor. Combat is just okayish, but nothing special. For a large part of the game you’re stuck with just one active skill. One of the major downsides is the lack of a map, which is quite strange considering the game involves a fair amount of backtracking. Overall, a decent mid game. Not amazing, but still enjoyable. The price should be a bit lower. Neutral Review. Follow Curator : The games that i`ve played 2 found this helpful
Si extrañás el humor del bananero y querés algo que rompa la 4ta pared más que the office NO BUSQUES MÁS. Lo que si hay que buscar son todos los patitos. Es IMPOSIBLE no querer encontrar todos los patitos.2 found this helpful
I wish there was a "meh" option for Steam sometimes, and this is one such example. A fun enough little action game, but truthfully quite short for the main game. Beat it about 4 hours, 5 to be safe. I assume 100% completion would take a few more hours total, like 8-10? I didn't care enough to 100% the game, despite how short it is. The core gameplay is ok, and controls are fine. Music and sound fit in well and aren't grating... mostly The little voicelines, however, got annoying as time went on. I actually disliked the main character's voiceline quips all the time. Story and writing however... well read on. However, as I played, a lot of little gripes appeared that I had to write down. If you can tolerate these gripes, I believe you'll find enjoyment with the game. Below you will find all my nitpicks/issues with the game, in no particular order. 1: 4th wall breaks are far too heavy handed, and the game is too reliant on current age video game and pop culture references. Said references usually don't age well. 2: Controls are fine, but some fights felt unfairly hectic early game. executions are slow, and in serious fights, are often not something yo…2 found this helpful
Edit: Problem fixed either by uninstalling & reinstalling the game or suddenly reversing my cognitive functions to do the thing correctly. Thanks to the dev Banki for the quick responses and patience. Leaving original review for posterity. Defeated Reniart and couldn't progress. Got stuck by the dinosaur bones and was unable to do anything with the lightning elemental. Could be missing something but wasn't able to do anything. 2 hours in, don't have all the powers, and Reniart was the 2nd boss I killed, after Hailga. Probably missing a mechanic but at that point why let me fight the boss to only trap me? Can't teleport out and couldn't find a hidden path at all. The controls aren't bad but the inability to remap them is frustrating. Found myself fat fingering shift+tab mid combat and the game continues while the overlay pops up. Can fix it so it doesn't do that by pausing the game while the overlay is up and/or allowing control mapping. Fullscreen didn't lock my mouse to the screen. Constantly swiped off the screen pausing the game and messing up whatever I had on the other monitor. Main three complaints of the game. The game progression lock (or my stupidity) being the bigg…1 found this helpful
Evil Wizard, developed by Rubber Duck Games and published by E-Home Entertainment Development Company Ltd., takes a familiar fantasy setup and cleverly flips it on its head. Instead of casting the player as a righteous hero saving the world, the game puts you in the robes of a defeated dark lord clawing his way back to power after being overthrown by a band of self-proclaimed heroes. This reversal immediately gives the experience a distinct personality, and the game leans into it with a tone that mixes lighthearted humor, sarcasm, and a playful jab at traditional RPG tropes. At its heart, the game is a fast-paced top-down action RPG that emphasizes fluid combat and constant movement. Rather than relying on simple attacks, players are encouraged to experiment with a range of magical abilities tied to different elements. Each spell has its own behavior, strengths, and situational uses, making combat feel more dynamic than a standard hack-and-slash approach. Switching abilities mid-fight becomes essential, especially when dealing with varied enemy types and environmental interactions. The result is a combat system that feels responsive and engaging, rewarding players who adapt quickl…1 found this helpful
Fantastic game. Very much a labor of love and it shows. A lot of references, fun magic gameplay, and interesting elemental interactions! I love the combat and tongue in cheek humor.1 found this helpful
