About This Game

Faint Call is a psychological horror game about a police officer investigating a distress call from someone at a notoriously cursed house.

Story

In 2010, a family moved into a suburban house. Their joy turned to terror on the first night when they were brutally murdered by an unknown assailant. The police investigated, but each victim was found hanging in the bathroom with a mysterious symbol carved into their chests. Frustrated, the police closed the case, declaring the house off-limits. Years later, a daring vlogger heard of the cursed house. Seeking content, he decided to stay there. As he did, strange occurrences unfolded, revealing the house’s dark secrets.

It was fine until I got stuck in the basement. It was so frustrating. I had no idea what to do, so I gave up and just watched other people play online.

My Score: 3/5 A fun little jump scare experience with a brief chase puzzle. Good atmosphere and design.

Not a bad horror game. The setting and atmosphere is nice and it does a decent job of building tension in the beginning, the story could probably use a little more padding. The forced getting locked into rooms segments got pretty annoying because of how long they last. It would be a much better experience if those were shortened just a bit. For those having trouble in the basement, you can literally outrun it. It only shuffles a few steps at a time and it won't directly attack you, even walking around it. While frustrating at first, if you outpace it a bit before putting in a lightbulb, you can get through it pretty quickly.

The game was SO GOOD until the basement segment. I died 3 times, and decided my time was better spent not playing, which is SUCH a shame cause you really had it going well in the first half. Also, I've said it before and I will say it again, you don't need loud sounds for jump scares to be scary. Your atmosphere and tension building was spot on. You could have had regular level noises for the scares and they would have worked just as well. Food for thought for the next game.

I can't believe I paid $1.50 for this. It's terrible. The controls are all over the place. The basement section is impossible; there's no tips on what to do beside "shine on enemy" but wtf because shine what exactly? I hate this game. I wish I never played it or knew of it's existence.

Faint Call was a quick walking sim horror. The atmosphere is creepy and story was okay. There were a few puzzles that were hard to understand and mentally took you out of the game due to the number of times repeating to get them right. But overall, a great play with some okay jump scares.
