In the future of the 2000’s, war is no longer fought with missiles weapons or nuclear bombs. With the high technology of military satellite, enable to monitor any large scaled forces. It was the beginning of new ear of small scaled land warfare weapons. At that time, new weapon called NAP (New Age Powered-Suits) was unveiled. Howard Bowie, the soldier of the El Sharia Military Nation's foreign legion was received an order. Now, go to the battlefield to fulfill the mission even though it would be like a death sentence... Features:
- 7 different stages full of action
- Fight against powerful bosses that will push your combat skills to the limit
- Use a wide variety of weapons that allow for many different attack strategies
- Gallery: view images from the original game’s illustrations, posters, box design, etc.
- Jukebox: listen to any of the game music tracks any time you want.
- Rewind/Turbo function: repeat something until you achieve perfection, or speed things up
- Cheats function: activate cheats that will make your mission a lot easier (infinite lives, invulnerability, etc.)
- Save state function: save wherever you want to in the game, and restart from that exact point
- Screen filters: select from several filters to modify how the game looks (retro-style monitor, black-and-white, etc.)

I've had my time with this game in the past. Unfortunately it currently runs really poorly. I recommend watching the game's updates before purchasing. What's the issue? It runs slower like it's PAL (50 MHz), but the audio is also pitched down. That can be something that's usually tolerated, but it also ticks multiple times a second like it's lagging. It natively launches in fullscreen and I've tried windowed mode with different settings. Note this also only includes the US Genesis version (Final Zone) and the JP Mega Drive version (Axis). The X68000 version is missing and this is because of the owner not agreeing to it. Watch this for updates and buy it after the lagging issue is fixed. I will be watching and plan on repurchasing it after (if it's possible)14 found this helpful
A fun but EXTREMELY short game As a lad I used to rent this game quite a bit for Sega genesis, never bought it. Once you get down your favourite weapons to equip and get the hang of how the stages flow, the game becomes incredibly easy. Graphically it still remains a solid and good looking title of its time. The music is driving in that Japanese 16-bit shooter way, and the gameplay is limited but still fun. It's a twenty ride through average, but still fun, game design elevated by presentation and atmosphere. At its current price I'd say get and relive the early days of 16-bit shooters.5 found this helpful
I like that the SEGA Genesis classic from years ago, when my friends and I were young, is available again through Steam. I would like to see the Sharp X68000 version though, but I first played Final Zone on the SEGA Genesis because of the cost, and accessibility of that BEAST PC years ago. So, this version of the game still does bring back memories1 found this helpful
