It's a very good game, but it's not that good as an Armored Core game. It's very well made, very good performance and almost no bugs, feels good to play and very fun, and there's plenty of the typical Fromsoft fanservice. The story and voice acting is also by far the best in the series. Fromsoft has again tried to mix up the gameplay formula for this game, which isn't rare for this franchise, but it doesn't really land for me. Compared to the "maximizing your effective range while minimizig your opponent's" gameplay of older titles, this game focuses more on staggering your opponents and then dealing big damage with melee attacks and charged shots. For lack of a better term, this really is the Dark Souls of Armored Core games, in terms of gameplay at least. That, combined with the general squishiness of ACs in this title, results in combat being very short and ultimately boiling down to a stagger race, which, while it can be engaging, isn't what I prefer. Combat in general doesn't last very long in this game. With the exception of bosses and the rare tougher opponent, almost no enemies last more than a couple shots. As for missions, this game is missing a lot of the "odd jobs"…
this was a fast game for me ngl, its more about the chaotic piano-like finger movement on keyboard that helps u stay alive in this game since ur screen is being bombarded with tons of explosions so u have to dodge and attack at the same time, doom eternal ultraviolence taught me how to play such games too, also I hear that the previous AC games are faster so im currently waiting for ports/remasters! this is an easy 10/10 game, i just wish they didnt use in-universe terms that arent newcomer-friendly
I've S ranked every mission in this game twice on two devices. Hundreds of hours. Buy the game if you're even a little bit interested in piloting a mech on fun missions in a post-human capitalist hellscape.
