About Mecha Knights: Nightmare
✦ AI summary
Pilot a customizable mech through a 20-mission campaign fighting hordes of nightmarish creatures in a 2049 apocalyptic war, upgrading and specializing your armor with over 20 customizable parts to match your playstyle. Inspired by classics like Armored Core and Earth Defence Force, this one-man passion project emphasizes large-scale tactical operations where you're part of the fight, not a solo savior.

Overview
In the year 2049 at the peak of the Second Cold War, an all-out conflict between N.A.T.O and the Russia-China alliance is about to break out. In the midst of the tension, an enigmatic incident sends the world into an apocalyptic war. Nightmarish creatures of unknown origin suddenly begin to appear, plunging the world into terror and chaos. A young American pilot, Ethan, is caught in the middle of it all, as untold horrors break out on the surface of the planet. He will have to battle endless hordes of monsters in his Mobile Armor, a powerful customizable Mech.
Single-Player Campaign
See the story through the eyes of an ace pilot. Fight for humanity’s survival through 20 campaign missions, working as a part of the N.A.T.O forces. Be part of large-scale operations, pushing your Mobile Armors to the brink of their capabilities. Choose your Mech and engage hundreds of bizarre creatures in epic battles, gaining weapons, equipment and resources along the way to upgrade and customize your Mech.
Deep Mech Customization
Engage the enemy on your terms! Develop an all-round Mech, built to do everything at once, or specialize it, allowing for devastating long-range barrages of high-velocity guns, or get up close with double-gatling guns. Choose from among a wide variety of mechs and weapons.
Customize over 20 elements of your Mobile armour. Equip unique parts such as mine throwers, air support modules or weapon cooling systems.

About the developer
This is a one-man passion-project. Mecha Knights is my attempt to create the Mech game I always wanted to play. I've wanted to combine the elements from games like Armored Core, Front Mission, Earth Defence Force and even Resident Evil, in an apocalyptic war theme that could be seen in anime series such as Muv:Luv and Blue Gender. A game where it's not just you, the player, that is winning the whole war as a one-man army, but rather that you take part in larger operations – where you and your allies fight hundreds of enemies. A game where extensive customization and progression allows you to develop your own Mech, while the game keeps you engaged with the story of the soldiers.

The lack of controller support ruined it for me.3 found this helpful
This game is pretty fun, the dev put lots of work into it and i can really feel the armored core/ Muv luv influence
As other reviews have said, this game is some kind of fever dream hybrid between Armored Core and EDF. You will balance your time between killing hordes of flesh abominations, farming for loot boxes, & fine tuning your mech's energy/weight balance. Very simple to play without being too overcomplicated and the plot is just good stupid fun. I cannot recommend this game enough even after a few hours. My only real complaint is that it doesn't have co-op.
Look, this is very obviously a one-man band effort. It's a bit too janky, a bit too unpolished, a bit too raw and bit repetitive to be anything else. But damn it, it's fun. I did not know that I needed Armoured Core smashed into a zombie defense game. That's basically what this is. And it's pretty good at it! I don't think any other mecha game of this nature would have the stones to place 300+ enemies on the screen at the same time and then tell you to blow them to teeny tiny red chunks. It's cheap, and you'll be supporting a (clearly) very dedicated and talented one-man band. Buy it.
Just recently bought Armored Core 6. Got curious about any other Mecha games, so I searched and this pops up first on summer sale. Bought it and played three missions..... HOW THE HELL DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS UNTIL NOW? It's freaking AWESOME!!! Customizable mecha with different stats, weapons and fighting styles so far..... A total recommendation to play!
These days it rare to see a game that has had work put into it, and not just forced by companies. This game was developed amazingly, and the potential screams you will not stop, and after finishing the game now i will wait until the second comes. to the Dev, This is an amazing game, thank you!!!
