Fire in the Hole is a ridiculous little multiplayer game, and I had a lot of fun with how completely it commits to the idea. It mixes golf with top down twin stick shooting, putting me on a course where I have to shoot the other players while also trying to get my golf ball into the hole. I liked how quickly the peaceful idea of golf turns into complete chaos. The main gameplay is built around fighting for points while controlling my golf ball and trying to stop the other players from scoring. I can use different gun clubs, golf balls and power ups, so there is more to think about than simply aiming at whoever is closest. I enjoyed the tension of deciding whether to focus on attacking someone or trying to score myself. The local multiplayer is easily the strongest part. The game is designed around playing with other people on the same screen, and that makes every match feel unpredictable. I liked how a player who looks like they are winning can suddenly get knocked out or miss an important shot. The hazards around the courses also make the arenas feel more active instead of just being empty spaces to drive around. The animal characters add a lot of charm too. The whole thing has…
