Call me old fashioned, but when I see a game out of early access and pay for a "full game," I expect the game to be finished. The fault is on me for not looking into the game posts better, but I could almost excuse the game being unfinished (main story, single player) if I didn't also feel like I was playing pony express simulator to make up for the lack of content. Complete one aspect of a side quest, and you'll be forced to travel 1.5 km across the map to complete the next section of the quest, and so on. The microtransaction horses were also a bit wild. Maybe there's more content in the online aspect, but as far as single player goes, paying for a game out of early access that still isn't finished rubbed me the wrong way a bit.4 found this helpful
The game is very enjoyable from what I've played so far. It runs well most of the time, but needs some optimizations still. Despite a low concurrent player count, the world still feels lively with players running around. There's also a lot of amazing people who play it.2 found this helpful
I really can't recommend this game right now, especially not for full price. I've played my fair share of horse games over the years, and despite this game being advertised as one, the horses are almost completely irrelevant to the storyline. Even out of early access, the game is very bare-bones and lacks meaningful gameplay. I think this game could've turned out much better if not for the multiplayer aspect of it, which really waters down the whole "horror" vibe and probably took out a good chunk of the budget that could've been allocated elsewhere. Half the time I forget I'm even playing a horror/mystery game because unless you're actively doing the main story quests, the atmosphere of the game hardly fits the genre. The horses themselves are alright, but somewhat janky, and despite them being animated with mocap, they still don't look quite right. They feel lifeless and almost uncanny, which suits them since they're essentially just a meat motorcycle you use to get around the map rather than a living breathing animal that you forge a bond with over the course of the story. I'm guessing the horses are more of a marketing strategy than anything, which is such a letdown considerin…1 found this helpful
Equinox: Homecoming is an adorable, cozy horse-riding game that blends relaxing exploration with mystery and collecting collectibles. The open world is beautiful and genuinely fun to explore, and there’s a huge variety of cosmetics and accessories to customize your horse, making every ride feel personal. The graphics are absolutely amazing, especially in 4K with maxed-out settings. I’m getting around 100 FPS, with lows of about 80 FPS, and the game still looks stunning while running so smoothly. Overall, Equinox: Homecoming is easily one of the best cozy open-world games I’ve played. If you love horses, exploration, customization, and a little mystery, this is definitely worth checking out. ♥️
neeeiiighhh ! . its got horseys in it . get it !. you might not like it if you dont like horseys .very mmo , you can play single player but i think your missing the point if you do . the story is a good and strong.theres plenty to do some might complain about the grind but personally .i believe no pain no gain . its still not finished their adding more story and more horseys and gear . its not perfect needs alittle more polish . but for the price im not complaining i have had 75 hours play time and dont see myself getting bored anytime soon .if your picky u might not like it but if you like community spirit then opposite.
I'm just getting started but so far I love it.
