Fun retro post-apoc RPG, focused on items which is quite rare. Even the normal attack use items ( different ammo ) and there are quite a lot of different items. You level up your character like you want, they have some small difference and have different upgrades but nothing force you to use them a specific way even if some upgrades are way stronger. The world is contained pretty well, a lot of chests laying around with some minor exploration, they are never really far. The one thing I did not like is that there are no shops, no currency, you can only craft and find items. There is a "Luck" stat that can give you more loot and a chance not to use items which is almost mandatory. I did not invest in it until the middle of the game and I was running out of items the whole game. The bosses are also huge bullet sponges, especially if they don't have a weakness or you run out of items for it. I was enjoying the game until the last boss. I don't want to spoil anything but unlike every other enemies you don't see its health bar so you have no idea if you are wasting your time and need to level up or have a chance. I spent at least two hour trying and trying again, going back to fight so…2 found this helpful
Fun game with customizable color schemes, fun combat using different ammo types to use elements and status affects on enemies. Feels like a fun and short game.1 found this helpful
Had this in my wishlist for a while and finally bought it and got around to playing it. For some reason in my head I thought it was a pretty popular indie title. Now that I'm finished with it and reading the reviews, I'm perplexed. Theres only 34 at the time of writing, but I got to say this is one of the best bite sized RPG's you could play today. The game is unique and the story is interesting enough that you could play it in a few sittings.1 found this helpful
For a Vast Future is an indie role-playing game developed and published by Retreaux Games that captures the spirit of classic portable adventures while presenting an unexpectedly thoughtful science-fantasy setting. Rather than relying on spectacle, the game invites players into Seralia, a nation attempting to recover from the devastation of a long and destructive war. The result is a journey that feels both nostalgic and distinct, combining retro visuals with a narrative centered on rebuilding, hidden agendas, and the lingering effects of conflict. From the opening moments, it becomes clear that the game is more interested in worldbuilding and atmosphere than fast-paced action, and that focus ultimately becomes one of its greatest strengths. The world of Seralia is filled with abandoned technologies, isolated settlements, and individuals trying to carve out a future amid the ruins of the past. As players travel across the continent, they gradually uncover a conspiracy tied to the governing powers of the region, transforming what initially seems like a simple adventure into a more layered mystery. The storytelling unfolds at a deliberate pace, rewarding curiosity and exploration. C…
Great short game. Really interesting and fun combat and leveling system. I really enjoyed building the characters in different ways. The only real downside is that you're only really building your characters to either shoot or throw items, and that's not a huge amount of variety, but it's what I expect for a short little game like this. The game isn't very long at all, coming in around 6-8 hours. There's no need to grind unless you're going for achievements. It doesn't overstay its welcome and ends when it needs to. The story is solid. Big recommend from me.
Great little game. Nothing groundbreaking here, but does what it does very well: it has nice GameBoy-style art and nice chiptuney music, a battle system with a few cool novelties (but not so much that it overcomplicates things). Nothing outstays its welcome. The story is a little sparse, perhaps, but that may be a plus for some. I personally found this refreshing, given the tendency of many RPGs to drown you in text and cutscenes. cool game, recommended
