This is a *much* better game that it originally appeared to be. The first couple runs were pretty tough until I started getting a feel for the game. There is some fantastic writing going on and these are top notch moral and ethical puzzles constructed in a way that really draws you in and makes the decision making parts of the game even more challenging than the combat phases. This is really good, well worth it to play enough to get yourself drawn into the plot arches. I still want to play it again and explore some plot lines that I failed previously with different teams and decks. * Starting is frustrating because you can't undo choices and that maniac gets your team over and over, but its worth figuring out. Try playing a strong dumb guy and just punch him because you didn't like the way he looked at you :P * Pick quest colors that go along with your deck theme. If you're strong and lack gold, go for the skull quests to gain experience fast and get the most new cards. If your quest takes you away from your colors the do the gray quests. Ones with a card looking thing are merchants usually and campfire looking things can provide valuable information. * The game really rewards y…1 found this helpful
This game deserves a lot more credit than what it is currently getting; there is a learning curve but it feels rewarding to do so, and it really nails the "one more round" vibe. Except that round can take hours long, and before you know it you've played all day long. Not many games can achieve evoking such a response anymore, but Shambles certainly manages to do so. There's a multitude of stories and outcomes as well which is easy to get invested into, and it even has a 'Pokedex-like' bestiary that'll have you hunting for adding more to it through making different choices in subsequent playthroughs. Featuring cameos of Gordon Ramsey, Bear Grylls and others, as well as references to other things ("Slavemon" for example, lol) make said random events in which these appear quite funny sometimes and add to the experience. All in all, a really positive surprise and thus deserving of more recognition. Here's to hoping the DLC will happen sometime soon!1 found this helpful
A great little game for what it is. You will easily get a day or two of fun out of it if you enjoy this type of thing.1 found this helpful

It's Slay the Spire with FFX node level up system. Many games like this have the fights few battles or hours exactly the same. I played 3 runs so far and each one was vastly different.
A very unusual deckbuild with a plot and a ton... sometimes you even think there are too many choices to make. But that's the whole point, I suppose. Highly recommended.
