About Frebbventure Alliance

That's right, the cat came back, and this time, with more. More what? More friends, more enemies, more action, more levels, more bosses, more story. More everything! Frebbventure Alliance takes the formula for a game that prided itself on being jam-packed no-frills action platforming madness, and does it even harder! What's the game like? I never played your first game.Take a traditional Mario or Sonic styled platformer. Add in combat and movesets inspired by the modern Kirby titles. Now, crank the intensity waaaaay up, add a style and ranking system, and throw in a story that packs in plenty of character and stakes, without taking up 80% of the game. Sound like a lot of fun? In my humble and unbiased opinion... it is!The flagship feature of both games in the series, beyond any minor gimmicks, is the flow to the combat and platforming. Most small to midsize enemies go down in one to two hits, most attacks double up with some kind of unique movement utilities, you've got a dodge button that lets you cancel out of almost any action, and while deaths are frequent, checkpoints are, as well.

Update 2: Finally finished it after nearly 20 hours. The final bosses (both normal and True) are possibly a little overtuned, with too many overlapping projectile attacks. Some of the later levels could use a couple more checkpoints. And the camera issues still stand, with it often not pointing in the direction of threats. Plus, overall it felt like the game pushed me more towards ranged combat played safe, because getting up close means both shotgunning projectiles, contact damage and enemy melee which does extra damage. With no I-frames to mitigate it, holding back and plinking is safer. Also some sound balancing could be done. The death shouts on the U-Troops should be like half what it is. These are all small nitpicks because this was a 20 hour platformer where every level was distinct, most had one or more bosses, the story was interesting and sets up hooks for a sequel that I hope happens, and the boss fights - while thorny - were mostly excellent. Might need a couple patches and some tuning to become the game it really deserves to be, but otherwise, great work to the dev! Updated: I am 15 hours in. I believe I am on the final boss... of the main story. It is kicking my as…

did the whole thing! i'll give my initial thoughts!! Full disclosure; yeah this game can and will kick your ass. as someone who's been waiting for this game since the demo, I can say it didn't dissapoint. Big evolution from the first entry, both fun story and characters. Most of the character movesets are very enjoyable and they feel better integrated towards both combat and platforming- especially ones of the returning cast. I think the way the modular part of the movesets really does work more in Alliance's favor compared to the first game in this regard because the base moves are already generally pretty nice all around (though i did like some of the first entries entire moveset overhauls too). There's also just generally more of a sense of speed now and it feels awesome when you nail it. REALLY like the character switching mechanic too since you can mix that into your gameplay and get really crazy with your movement. I really like the banter option u have on the level select now. I will say though some levels do feel a little cramped space wise (especially compared to the first game imo)- I've had times where it feels like jumping into ceiling/wall spikes felt like an i…

Frebbventure Alliance is the smashing sequel to Frebbventure, and it doesn't disappoint. Being able to play as more characters through the story mode than Frebb 1, and get to switch between them is a really fun mechanic. The many different attack sets you can customize your characters with also adds a variety of strategy and options to try. It also features Drinn, an adorable deer.

That gam is an absolute blast! Pure and simple. It's a mix of all the 2d action game i loved, from platformer to run and gun to everything in between, done in a cool and colorful setting, with a truckload of bosses and setpieces, and flow really well the whole way! It's also a rather lenghty campaign for a game of this type, without feeling bloated. The game is also really good at giving you alot of options, you'll pile up a large amount of character with varied playstyle and moveset, that alone was alone to vary things alot, but they all have alot of unlockable moves you can buy by doing well in previous stages, And you will need all those options, as the game is no cakewalk and enjoy throwing ALOT iin your direction! The difficulty IS fair and can be tuned down at worst. The harder parts(mostly bosses) you can always retry near-instantly, but they are demanding and expecting you to both choose well the tools you bring to the fight, and use them well. It's where the tag team part of the game comes in, and you'll be thankful for it, some part may need more mobile character, other someone with good gunplay, other a beefier character that can take troops close and personal, other t…

If you don't Frebb... what are you doing with your life?

The best platformer of 2026 came out while you weren't looking, and this is it! Frebbventure Alliance features all the same witty and charming writing of the first game and adds it on top of a perfected form of the simple, frantic, and fun combat-platforming action which caused me to fall in love with the first game. I am writing this shortly after beating the true final boss of the game, so when I tell you that this game never has a dull moment and had me captivated from start to finish, know that I ain't lying. This game is also incredibly replay-able! My current playtime at the time of writing this is as high as it is since I often found myself just replaying older levels trying to nab those platinum trophies or just mucking about with new characters and moves because of how fluid and fun the moment-to-moment gameplay is. Now, lets get something out of the way. This game is not perfect, and has lots of jank. You will likely encounter visual glitches, some wonky camera movements, and an unfortune number of typographical errors in the dialogue and "freakypedia". While I never experienced crashes throughout the main story, at the time of writing this there is a notable crash that …
