Geenius : Cupid Dough is a really small game, but I actually like how specific the idea is. It is basically a fast 2D runner built around the K pop song Cupid Dough by GEENIUS. I run to the right, collect glowing orbs and switch between five different members while I am playing. The interesting part is that changing characters also changes which vocal part I hear, so I am not just running through the same song every time. It feels more like I am playing around with the song itself than just playing a normal runner. The character switching is easily my favourite idea here. I can swap between the five members in real time, and hearing the different vocals change while I am still moving makes the simple gameplay feel much more interactive. I like that the game is not trying to turn Cupid Dough into some complicated rhythm system either. The controls are simple, so I can focus on collecting orbs and deciding which member I want to hear. It is a very easy game to understand, and I think that simplicity suits the music focused idea quite well. The part that surprised me more is what happens after a run.
