Disclaimer: I won a key for this game. This is an odd one. Is this game good? Yes! Is it worth $9.99, heck no. I adore these simple, relaxing mining games the type of which you'd normally find on Armor Games or Kongregate. I wish there were more games like this on steam. The art quality is sound, the gameplay is fine and the blocks make a satisfying kersploding noise when you break them. The soundtrack is a short loop so you'll want to turn that off pretty fast. Why is this not worth the price? 10 minutes of content. Once you can one shot all the different types of blocks the only reason to keep playing is to see how many floors you can get through. 10 Minutes of content might be overselling it. Each time you finish a round you're taken back to the main menu where you can purchase your upgrades and restart. And it is just a menu, no town or hub area with shop keeps to buy upgrades from as you so often find in these kind of games. I played 90-odd minutes because they game is cute and relaxing but I doubt I'll come back to it. This game is worth $1-2 at most and asking for $10 is highway robbery.6 found this helpful

Golden Mine Pickaxe is another GameMaker Studio asset flip from Russian copy+paste repeat offenders, Neki4 Electronics. All these guys do is rip off game templates and projects for Yoyogames/GameMaker Studio, change the name and a few cosmetic details, and try to scam people into paying for someone else's work on Steam. They have run asset flip scams dozens of times, and this is no exception (just look at their other games on Steam). It's nothing but a cash grab. This time they've ripped off a basic template for a 2D retro "miner" game where you click on blocks mindlessly to collect stuff. It's garbage. GameMaker Studio itself is a terrible game construction kit, and this asset flip shows just how bad things can get when templates/tutorials/demos from that construction kit get dumped on Steam as complete games. Asset flips and other "Fake games" (as Valve calls them) are harmful to the industry, because they pollute the marketplace and reduce the visibility and exposure needed by genuine indie developers. In line with dishonest asset flippers, the game was dumped immediately at launch into DailyIndieGame shovelware bundles. Even if this wasn't just an asset flip, it would b…3 found this helpful
Exceedingly boring and grindy. All you do is dig blocks to collect iron, gold, or crystal. Once your axe is broken, you start another game with the option to upgrade your axe from the 3 resources if you have enough of them. Once you clear a floor you move down to the next floor. Got it for 10 cents on another site, so not a big loss.1 found this helpful
