Gold Miner: Classic Edition is a game I played from my childhood which still holds up semi well today. It was fun to play this game for a bit because I remember I had so much fun previously. It has 2 player support as well which makes it better.3 found this helpful

Gold Miner is one of those games that many people remember fondly, and I completely understand why. It was a fantastic browser game back in 2003, and replaying it definitely brought back some nostalgic memories. That said, I don't think nostalgia alone should determine whether a modern Steam release is worth recommending. The gameplay is still simple and easy to understand, but after a short while it started feeling repetitive. The Steam version adds a new game mode and a few small extra things, but overall it's still essentially the same game many of us played for free years ago. Even the menus and general presentation feel a bit rough. If you're buying this purely to relive your childhood, you'll probably have a good time for an hour or so, just like I did. But if you've never played Gold Miner before, I don't think it holds up particularly well compared to what's available today, especially at its current price. I respect what Gold Miner meant to gaming history, but this Steam release feels like it's relying more on nostalgia than offering enough value as a modern release.1 found this helpful

Peak childhood gameplay. Nothing goes wrong with playing Gold Miner.
