About Grace
Grace and Kiran are field scientists doing research in the Sierra Nevada. When they discover that the famous Ruddy Quail is being harmed by grazing cattle, they must make a decision on how to protect it.
Grace is a short story-based game about two field technicians working in the Sierra Nevada of California. They're tasked with monitoring the nests of the Ruddy Quail but run into a problem when their study gets interrupted by human impacts on the ecosystem. They have to decide whether to continue collecting data or to tell the nearby townspeople about the problem.
All the trees, flowers, and birds included in this game can be found in the Sierra Nevada, except for the fictional Ruddy Quail. The calls of the birds are all accurate as well, except for the Rudyy Quail’s call which is voiced by the mountain Quail. You can identify the flora and fauna that you find throughout the levels using your field guide, which is illustrated by a variety of artists in fun styles!

I randomly came across this neat little pixel-style game. It has beautiful illustrations of the species of birds and plants which are around, And the story revolving around the preservation of the reserve is nice and interesting. But unfortunately it doesn't seem to have a proper ending to what happens next, It's a simple game that takes around 30 minutes to play. 7.5/10
For a free game, I don't want to complain, but I do sort of wonder what was the point of the 40 minutes I spent playing this. (No save system and it is hard for me to get even an hour of uninterrupted gaming, so had to leave the game up while I left the PC for a while... hence 3.3 hours played.) Felt like the game's story was just getting started when it ended. I like the idea of the game but feel like it wasn't fully realized. No offense to the devs, but this definitely felt like a waste of my time.
Recommended. A cute little story about the preservation of nature. The graphics are charming, the writing is decent and the concept of monitoring bird activity is interesting. It's really short, like a prologue, but gives a nice look into what could be. If you enjoy short story based games, then you'll like this.
A charming, very short (~30 min), game. I enjoyed the education in the story and adored the field guide. I would love more games like this!
