About The Stillness of the Wind
Live out your final days as Talma, a solitary shepherdess tending goats, making cheese, and growing crops on an abandoned homestead while a traveling merchant brings unsettling letters from the distant city. This meditative farming sim explores quiet grief and loss through the rhythms of daily life, letting you forge your own peaceful routine in the face of inevitable change.
One by one, everyone left the once bustling village for the city. Everyone, except Talma. Now approaching the end of her days, she maintains a simple, solitary way of life, surviving, subsisting, tending to her homestead and her goats.
Develop your own personal routine as you care for your farm and your animals. Tend to your goats, make cheese with their milk, collect eggs and cook meals, grow vegetables and barter with the travelling merchant who brings increasingly disturbing letters from your family in the city.
A follow up to the critically acclaimed Where the Goats Are, The Stillness of the Wind is a quiet rumination on life and loss.
Breed and look after your goats, make cheese from their milk, grow vegetables, water your plants, collect eggs, scare off the birds. It’s a hard but simple life of peaceful subsistence.
The travelling merchant brings letters from your family and friends and with them a view into a city that feels both very far away and as if it threatens to wash away the world you know.
It's up to you how you spend Talma’s time each day and what your routine will be. Focus on your chores, wander in the desert, reminisce about the past or draw patterns in the dirt.
Trade cheese and other items in return for hay for your goats, seeds to plant, fables, exotic items and shotgun shells, whilst exchanging conversation with the travelling merchant, your only human interaction.
Where the Goats Are was Memory of God's first game. The Stillness of the Wind will be a follow up, expanding on the original concept.

The Stillness of the Wind is a game about Nana, an elderly woman, whose family has all moved away to the city. With little time remaining in her life, she spends her final months maintaining her family farm. Each day she's visited by a local trader, who shares news from the city. Letters from her family become increasingly worrying, and Nana's world grows increasingly disturbing as her life comes to an end. The Stillness of the Wind is a painfully obvious allegory for senility and death, revolving around Nana's struggles to maintain the farm in her final days. As all her family has passed on, or moved away, Nana's only connection is the trader who visits almost daily. The trader carries letters from Nana's family and friends, which begin fairly normal. However, these letters become increasingly disturbing, implying that all society may be collapsing just beyond the edges of Nana's farm. The core gameplay loop is basically a farming sim. Nana wakes up each day, and needs to care for the goats, raise some crops, and generally keep herself well fed and rested. The trader exchanges goods like more chickens for processed farm products, such as cheese or vegetables. Nana can also forag…7 found this helpful
Stillness of the wind is a point & click game about a women named Talma and her farming days in isolation far away from her family who had gone to live in the city. The soothing music of the game plus the peaceful farming makes quite a cozy combo that just eases you into the game. The sound of the goats, birds, chicken, the travelling pedeller who sells us things, our happy little moments in the farm made it super easy for me to immerse myslef in the game. Althought it is just a point & click game, the cozy farming, the background music and the sad story makes the game worth it . I highly recommend this game to all.3 found this helpful
Won't spoil any of it (cause I honestly don't even know how), but just to make sure, the positive reviews of this game are for the message and symbolism it conveys, not for the gameplay. The gameplay is pretty slow, boring and with no direction or tutorial.3 found this helpful
The free precursor to this game "Where The Goats Are" is a more enjoyable experience... Movement is clunky and irritating in this game; I like the atmospheric build up but moving around is too annoying to bother completing the story.
I didn't expect this game to be this bleak. It has an intriguing story, but nothing is explained or revealed or resolved in any way. I feel like this is probably an artistic choice, but after such looooooong and slooooow gameplay, it coulda done with something, anything. It takes a long time to get any task done, which I understand is trying to be reflective of the character your playing. Very simple gameplay, very repetitive. Because the story didn't give enough and the gameplay was slow and repetitive without enough of a meaning behind it, aside from dank bleakness, I don't think I'd recommend this game.
