About GUNGRAVE VR

The acclaimed GUNGRAVE series is reborn in VR!

Many years have passed since the war against the nefarious drug, SEED.
Mika Asagi lived a quiet life watching over the undead soldier Beyond the Grave (Grave, for short), who returned to his slumber.

Those halcyon days ended suddenly, as South City turned into a war zone torn apart by Orgmen, humans infected with SEED. Faced with the threat to the city, its people, and her own peaceful existence, Mika makes her decision.

"...Please lend me your strength once again, Beyond the Grave."

To restore hope to South City, Mika and Grave throw themselves into battle.

Featuring third-person and first-person perspectives for an intense take on VR action gameplay, experience combat as if you are really there!

Strategically use new skills such as the slow-motion "Reaper Time" to turn the tide of battle against hordes of enemies.

Controls wont work on oculus quest 2 , Not even using virtual desktop or the community tutorials. Waiting for valve to make a VR system more affordable.

What can I say about Gungrave VR? Short story: it sucks I wish I could have any effort to write something funny, but if Binary Domain has an easier solution for using your controllers by default in 2026 than this game, supposedly built for VR only, but has zero official gamepad support? It’s a bad game. The graphics are so underwhelming they’re kind of bad to look at in VR, and with no way to adjust antialiasing or any other setting, and with such lackluster gameplay that isn’t worth looking at, why keep playing? The game goes from third person shooter, to first person for a power up, and jarringly into a wild third-person camera that is really disorienting even for a VR veteran like myself. There’s a first person rail shooter element where they show your arms…for some reason…then proceed to yank you to third person for melee, so reflecting projectiles is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ difficult in this segment. What would make the game better? Dropping the VR. Would that make it a fun game? No. Without VR the game isn’t fun, it would be great as a mobile game, but for a PC game asking for about $30 full price? That’s insulting. 1/5 - Raum auf, Grave.

GUNGRAVE VR is a virtual reality adaptation of the cult third-person shooter franchise Gungrave. Developed by Iggymob and published by Marvelous, it brings the stylish, over-the-top gunplay of the original PlayStation 2 games into a VR setting. Unfortunately, the transition to VR is uneven, resulting in a short, dated experience. The game alternates between two perspectives: traditional third-person shooting and first-person VR segments. In third-person mode, players control Grave as he dual-wields his iconic Cerberus pistols against waves of enemies. In first-person mode, the player locks into place, using head tracking to aim and shoot. This hybrid structure tries to capture cinematic flair but ends up disjointed. Combat remains true to Gungrave’s roots—fast, chaotic, and focused on chaining combos. Players can shoot continuously, dodge, and unleash powerful demolition shots. However, limited movement in VR and simplistic enemy AI reduce engagement. The gameplay loop becomes repetitive quickly, offering little variety or challenge. Visually, GUNGRAVE VR feels dated. Character models and environments resemble early last-gen assets, and the overall presentation lacks polish. The…

The game is super short with only 5 stages (15-30min each), so skip this one unless it's 80-100% on sale. After finishing this, it will tell you to continue with 'Gungrave U.N.', wich only has 3 additional stages. It looks great on the store videos but believe me, if you play it it's not that cool (blame the controllers). Sad to write this coming from XSeed. Pros: Graphics Cons: -Short. -Controllers are awful (you can play with a gamepad but not with the native Oculus controller support, you have to aim with your head). -Mediocre music. -No real story.
