Borderlands 2 VR is a virtual reality adaptation of one of the most celebrated looter-shooters of its generation, developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K. Rather than simply recreating the original experience, the game places players directly into the chaotic world of Pandora, transforming the familiar adventure into a far more personal and immersive journey. The core premise remains unchanged: players step into the role of a Vault Hunter, travel across dangerous wastelands, gather mountains of increasingly absurd weaponry, and confront the infamous Handsome Jack. What changes dramatically is the perspective, as virtual reality allows players to experience every firefight, explosion, and encounter from inside the action itself. The game’s greatest strength lies in how effectively its fast-paced combat translates into VR. Borderlands 2 was already known for its addictive shooting mechanics and seemingly endless supply of weapons, and these elements gain new life when players physically aim and fire their arsenal. Every weapon category feels more engaging because combat relies on natural movement rather than traditional mouse or controller inputs. Close-range battles becom…1 found this helpful
personally would not recommend this version of borderlands as cool as it was back then when it released, vr equipment evolved faster than this version could adapt.
This VR port is absolutely slept on. The "Mixed" rating convinced me to pass on this game for years. After finally giving it an honest chance, I can't help but feel those reviews significantly undersell what this game actually offers. I found that many of the issues people mention can be resolved with just a little time spent in the settings menus. At the time of this review, I've logged roughly 30 hours in my first week, completed the main campaign, and I'm genuinely excited to begin True Vault Hunter Mode. That's not something I often say after spending 30 hours in a VR headset. Is the game perfect? Nope. The lack of online co-op is disappointing, and there are a handful of VR-specific quirks that require a bit of setup before everything feels natural. Even so, none of those issues came close to outweighing what the game does exceptionally well. The combat feels fantastic, the loot loop is as addictive as ever, and experiencing Pandora in VR gave me a renewed appreciation for a game I thought I already knew inside and out. If you are someone who can enjoy Borderlands as a single-player experience, don't let the "Mixed" rating discourage you. This game exceeded my expectation…
I wasn't able to get the controls working, even after choosing the community layouts for this game.
plays surprisingly well for a vr port and my pc spec are not great at all still had a great experience
