Mysterious Lore
Genetically modified insectoids are the product of an isolated top-secret research base. As a consequence of experimentation, a mutation enabled the bugs to break captivity. They began replicating exponentially and have annihilated the facility. Your team has been dispatched to prepare the site for cleanup, an extermination.
Sandbox Mode
You can play the game while spawning in explosive barrels, more enemies, teleporting around and regenerating your health.
Speed Mode

The game’s opening premise is immediate and compelling: genetically mutated insectoid lifeforms have overrun a top-secret facility, and you — in control of a combat drone — must punch through wave after wave, reclaiming scrap and using the on-site refinery to survive and upgrade. Visually the title embraces pixel-art charm with a gritty sci-fi flair. Top-down framing gives you the strategic view of the combat arena, while destructible walls, explosive barrels, climbable fences and door-crushing mechanics inject dynamic variety into every encounter. The art style, while retro, never feels dated — it suits the relentless swarming gameplay and keeps things clear and crisp even when chaos erupts on screen.Gameplay is where Insectoid Descent truly shines.
