✦ AI summary

Players appreciate this real-time tactics game for its solid gameplay, balanced campaign, and classic appeal that has aged reasonably well. However, common complaints focus on poor vehicle AI and pathfinding that makes unit control frustrating, along with significant optimization issues on modern operating systems that can cause lag and compatibility problems.

Joint Task Force is an old, traditional, old-school modern-warfare RTS, typical from the era when it was first released. The game is very enjoyable and if you are a fan of war RTS games, then this is a must have. There is a story with great cinematics and TV video news during the missions. And war correspondent Pepper Morgan’s nipples are ready to pierce through her top. Although the game is old, the graphics, the explosions still look great. Later in the game those seemingly endless heavy enemy assaults comprising of helicopter gunships, main battle tanks and self-propelled anti-aircraft artillery can cause problems for the player and those Apache attack helicopter flights are very much needed. The game’s story ends in a cliffhanger, at the end of the last cinematic they say “to be continued…”, but a sequel was never made. Which is a shame because this is a great game. Highly recommended.

This game aged pretty well! Differentiated, balanced and interesting-enough campaign. In addition of nice mechanics and not-terrible graphics it's quite fun! I'd call it a simplified Call to Arms. Only problem is the vehicle AI and pathfinding, it's terrible and annoying, trying to navigate group of tanks through tight streets is challenging as they suddenly turn 90 degrees and block others etc.. Also running this game on modern Windows versions is quite problematic (but doable). Nevertheless, would buy again definitely
