Juniper's Knot

SPOILERS i find the art to be great, the scenery was laid out nicely, but I feel it is difficult to relate to the characters or get to know them more in depth. That is to say, they lack character development for the most part, and neither have much of a personality past the being a demon and a human boy who believes her kind are monsters. Some of the writing was very middle-schooler coded, and while I can appreciate the nostalgia of a watt pad fanfiction, I'd say the script wasn't the best. However, I did like the unexpected relationship she had with a human girl in the past, and getting to know a little more about that. Ending felt rushed, and the relationship between the two (human boy and demon) confusing and questionable.

I didn't know it was on Steam! I played it as a standalone 10+ years ago, and something about it made me remember it dearly for all these years. It's small, cute and emotional. Happily went through it again.

Nice short and sweet. Worth playing through if needing something quick and can't decide what to play. The music and sound was good but felt a bit harsh at times. The ambiance particularly with fire and wind noises were very nice. Art didn't scale well to fullscreen as it was lower resolution, but the fonts seem to scale properly so it's a clear reading experience. I was expecting more of a lesson learned but the story told was still above expectations for something this short.

This was really sweet! Nailed the dramatic and even romantic tension, and the sound was well-used to that effect. Very enjoyable early pioneer of actually-good English VNs.

A nice short story. Definitely worth reading.

Randomly stumbled upon this game, thought it looked nice, saw the good reviews and that it was very short, so I was like, "why not ?". And I really don't regret spending a measly one hour of my life to play it, it was a very nice and sweet story. For only one hour and for completely free ? Rarely saw something more worth it in my life. 10/10
