Once you are comfortable in recalling the characters with their corresponding romaji, enemies will spawn in a path and you have to eliminate them by typing the romaji for each Japanese character that are attached to each enemy. For players interested in practicing strictly Kanji, there are a variety of game modes you can play!Features
• Play over 15 Levels - Be introduced to a new set of hiragana/katakana characters for each level. Learn and memorize them well as each subsequent level will contain characters that were introduced in previous levels.• Learn Kana Pronunciations - Each level, the set of hiragana/katakana characters that are introduced are paired with audio clips (provided by Learn Japanese Adventure) to listen to.
• Customize Your Own Levels - Oftentimes, you want to practice certain kana characters or words from certain topics such as colors and food. This feature allows you to practice them in the same fun manner.

Enemies will be accompanied with furigana so you can learn the kanji too! Optionally, you can choose to display only the kanji to really challenge yourself.
• Showcase Mastery of all Kana Characters - In an endless game mode titled Kana Blitz, you can test the breadth of your kana character knowledge as enemies will continually spawn with a Japanese vocabulary word attached to them. How many enemies can you eliminate?
• Play the Kanji Game Modes - Want to learn the 3rd and most complicated writing system? Play the extra kanji game modes like Customize Your Own Kanji Level or Kanji Blitz to level up your vocabulary skills!
• Challenge yourself with Definition Mode - In this game mode option, enemies will spawn with English definitions and you have to type the Japanese translation. This option is available for both kana and kanji.• Purchase Helpful Items and Stats - Taking down enemies will reward you with tokens. You can use these tokens to buy special abilities and stats from the in-game shop to help you with your Japanese learning journey.

This game....no this masterpiece is revolutionary to the modern video game. While remaining basic at it's core the ability to learn and enjoy oneself is unlimited. game is alright and pretty fun.5 found this helpful
If you want to learn Hiragana and Katakana, I suggest watching an introductory video on YouTube first to get familiar with the writing system. Then after you get the hang of it, start playing this game to quickly build proficiency in Hiragana and Katakana. I became much better at reading Hiragana and Katakana after playing this game for a while. Surprisingly, it also has a Kanji mode with selectable levels (N5, N4, etc.), so I’ll keep using this game to improve my Japanese skills.4 found this helpful
I like this. Played it for a bit. I do know all the hiragana/katakana but am slow at recognising. I wish i could set the speed of the attack, to be able to learn better, might this be possible? I REALLY REALLY don't like that the input box doesn't clear itself if you get it wrong, so you need to use backspace, which is annoying and takes time, especially if you can't type very well. There is a free online version as well, BUT Worth the 3,49!4 found this helpful
This game does a good job "gamifying" learning hiragana and katakana. The custom map mode really elevates the learning potential of the game because it lets you create any combination of characters. The developer is also very responsive.4 found this helpful
