Kill the Lich Idle

It's a good idea dragged down by awful scaling of prestige currency and lackluster prestige bonuses. The currency itself is broken up in two forms, coins and whispers. The coin bonuses start out low while consuming at least 1/3rd upwards to the entire amount of currency from your current prestige. Yes, you will perform a prestige just to buy a single buff that shaves off a few minutes, or so it feels, from your next run. You want more of the myriad of stats that affect how fast you make progression? Do an entire prestige to buy one increase to a single stat, and then, you wait for 20+ hours to get back to where you were. Do another prestige, and you might get to purchase another single stat with another 20+ hour wait to recover from resetting your progression. The vast majority of coin upgrades start at 10-30 coins and the costs increase at an alarming rate of around 3x. The whispers unlock new actions you can take upon prestiging. These are how you acquire new content for more progression, but their costs are all over the place. Even worse, the whispers scale in much the same fashion as coins while feeling even worse as there doesn't seem to be a lot of unlocks to buy with …

This is the kind of game you need to leave on in the background and come back hours later to see if any progress has been made. In addition to that, you're not going to make significant progress unless you have the idle time bonus active, which you're going to want to manipulate your clock to build up in an instant. It seems unique at first, but it presents its "story" in the least interesting way, with the first box directing you to the menu to look at a massive wall of text, then doesn't even stay consistent in which boxes do or don't contain a story at all. That, and the fact that there's little to no agency in making things run faster means that there's no reason to pay attention to it aside from watching timers go down. I was willing to put up with it for way too long out of sheer curiosity, but then the game just inexplicably erased my progress after one too many clock change reboots. What a waste of time. Luckily there's no incentive to go back to it since there's no achievements either. Don't play this game. Play Trimps instead; It does what this game is trying to do, but better.

Strange the reviews are complaining about no gameplay. It's an idler. That's the point, no? You make decisions that impact your speed of progress, and they are large scale and overarching. I like it, I want more of it. Feels like the exact right balance of number go up + not babysitting it.

i really like this one so far. id really like to try and beat this ^^ also idk why people are hating on it so hard as you actually did well explaining exactly what the game is and the tips and such are good on letting the player know. regardless good job!

Too slow for me / prestige too punishing. Spend 8-12 hours for the most minimal build up of resources, to maybe accumulate something tens of resets in... nah.

I have no idea what's going on or why I'm doing anything. I love it!
