At first the game may look straight forward, but there is a lot of depth to it. Behind every corner there can be a treasure or other collectible hiding. It keeps you on your toes (or paws) on top of dealing with the parkour. You may think the colourful imagery and funky tunes are hear as a nice treat, but if you think this game is easy, you are dead wrong. To become the ultimate 100% completionist, you have to give it your all! And excellent combination of fun, difficulty and every now and then a pee!6 found this helpful
Played in offline mode on Steam for a bit, which is why the game time appears so low. I completed the game in about 2 hours, although I still have plenty of stuff to do for the 100%. Very fun game. A good throwback to 3D platformers of the past that manages to feel reminiscent in a good way without feeling quite as out-dated as those games tend to feel now. It controls super smooth and is a ton of fun with plenty of enjoyable references thrown in. And you can pee.4 found this helpful
As a Playstation 1 kid growing up, this game is awesome. honestly.2 found this helpful
11/10 Game – Pure Nostalgic Fun! Koob Dog is a fantastic indie gem that completely hooked me. It’s packed with nostalgic charm, incredibly addictive gameplay, and time trials that strike the perfect balance of challenge without becoming too frustrating. You can tell a lot of love went into this game—from the catchy tunes (though they do get a bit repetitive and could use a volume slider) to the smart level design and awesome relics you collect, especially the swords inspired by classic franchises. That detail alone made me grin like a kid again. Nothing felt too cryptic or overwhelming, and for the first time in ages, maybe even ever, I actually 100%'d a game—and even unlocked all the achievements!. Sure, even though the hitboxes can feel a bit unforgiving at times, and our boy Koob is so aquaphobic if one paw slightly brushes against a puddle he meets his maker, it all adds some unintentional comedy, but once you get used to it, it just becomes part of the charm. There’s a lot of content here too. I can genuinely see this game blowing up with the right exposure. It would be a blast to see streamers doing tournaments or speedrun challenges with it. This game feels like a heartfelt tribute to classic platformers from the golden age of gaming, capturing enough charm and nostalgia from the 90s and early 2000s to keep you hooked. While some of the platforming feels rough around the edges—certain sections seem hastily put together and lack polish—the creativity and effort behind the design shine through, making it easy to forgive those moments. What truly stands out is the atmosphere. The sound design, vibrant visuals, and overall vibe create an immersive experience that's easy to lose yourself in, even if the journey isn’t perfectly smooth. At its core, this is a passion project, full of love and dedication. Rough around the edges but undeniably charming, it’s a game that stands out and is well worth a shot for fans of platformers or nostalgic gaming.1 found this helpful
