About Libertad o Muerte!
Libertad o Muerte! represents the wars of independence of the Spanish Colonies in America. A turn-based (each turn being 6 months of real time) game, with a huge map of Latin America and nearby regions. Players can take control of the Patriots or the Royalists, and guide them through 1810-1825 to achieve their military objectives, managing military resources, armies and fleets and starting or reacting to events. Cunning play of the event cards received each turn will be critical to final success.

- Huge map divided into areas covering all of South America, Central America and the Caribbean, as well as remote locations such as, Cádiz, California, Texas and part of the USA in 1810.
- Hundred of land and naval units depicting historical leaders and forces.
- Most important cities and forts in the represented regions.
- Military Resources Production and Management.
- Two deck of cards, one for each player, cards represent historical events and also bring into play various type of assets and tricks (economics, combat, new troops, fate, etc…).
Scenarios
- Mexico: Covers the rebellion in Mexico, Texas and Florida 1810-1820
- La Plata 1810-1823: Covers the rebellion in the Viceroyalty of Peru and the Viceroyalty of La Plata.
- Bolivar: Covers the rebellion in the Viceroyalty of Nueva Granada and part of Peru. 1810. 1822
- Grand Campaign 1810-1825: The full campaign unifying the rest of scenarios.
- ¡Early Years! 1810-1815: A medium-sized campaign, its the Grand Campaing limited to the first 5 years of the war.
Gameplay
Two players, either in hot seat or PBEM mode. Solo play versus the AI.

According to the scenario, from 4h00 to many hours when playing the Grand Campaign.

Short review but as things currently stand, no I can't recommend this game. There are bugs that break the game and the battle simulation is a step back from the one that works so well in Wars Across the World. I may well upgrade my score later if there are fixes but for now, I've got to down vote this7 found this helpful
A few years ago I read an excellent book on a much neglected subject, Liberators by Robert Harvey. Sadly, I could not find a single game on the subject, so when this title was announced I was rather excited. Like, I suspect, many of you, on release I messed about with it for a few minutes, then added it to my collection of unplayed games I would, at some point, get around to. One thing this dreadful lockdown has enabled me to do is finally play a few of these titles, this one included. I was already familiar with ‘War’s Across The World’,with which this game is bound to be compared as it shares a very similar game system. This enabled me to pick the game up very quickly. How I wish I had made more effort to play it earlier, as it is an absolute delight, and leaves me with that ‘just one more turn’ feeling when you have other things you need to do, like sleep. The complex political situation is handled nicely by the cards, leaving the player free to focus more on military matters. You do need to build up your forces, prior to embarking on any military campaigns, BUT, be careful not to build them up beyond your countries ability to maintain them. This is a likable game on a not oft gamed subject. It is a bit buggy and somewhat hard to learn/follow at the start. It is worth the effort alone due to the subject matter. Worth getting on sale, in any event.4 found this helpful
