About Port Royale 4

Set sail and join the colonial powers of Spain, England, France and the Netherlands in their fight for supremacy of the Caribbean in the 17th century.
In ‘Port Royale 4’ you will take control of a colony as a young and ambitious governor who is eager to learn what it takes to manage and grow his small settlement into a bustling trader city.

Develop production chains connecting multiple islands and create complex trade routes across the Caribbean, covering the ever-growing needs of the respective cities. Make use of the detailed sea map to avoid stormy weather regions, cliffs or shallow waters. Fulfill tasks for your nation’s viceroy, earning more fame to unlock town buildings, ships and more. Conquer the cities of rival nations or hunt down their fleets with a letter of marque while also keeping a keen eye out for pirates and other privateers.

For the first time in the series, naval battles will be turn-based, with up to 8 ships battling at one time and tactical captain maneuvers that can turn the tide in even the most hopeless of situations for a glorious victory.

Отличный аналог Patrician и Rise of Venice.

I really wish they had a "star" rating instead of up or down, as it's not really a horrible game it's just a 3. It starts out ok, but there's a little too much to mange as you move through the game and it becomes a little monotonous . Ship Combat, although somewhat visually entertaining, isn't very good. The battle maps are way too small, the "special" abilities you have need to continually be replenished by doing missions, which would be fine if you didn't have to continually defend yourself, leaving your ability pool perpetually depleted. Making combat without being able to rest, which does happen, leaving you open to destruction by much weaker fleets. You're also limited as to the number of ships you can command which would make overcoming that rather difficult. You can offset that by gaining fame, but you're also going to lose a lot just to get there. As is also typical of games like, the enemy is not restricted to the rules of the game as far as the economics supporting the fleets are concerned. I give it a 3 becomes it's playable, but to me not worth the effort to try and overcome the stupidity factor.

I played the previous iterations so the basic gameplay was easy to get into. If you start a new game, the system is set up to ease you into everything, so you won't be overwhelmed.

It scratches a particular itch for lovers of management games - I do recommend it for those that are fans of the genre However, it feels limited. The graphics are nostalgic at best, dated at worst. Zooming in from map view to settlements is a great idea, but building feels claustrophobic as a result. Turn based battles are not my cup of tea (would have prefered a system of slower gameplay that you can pause at any second) - but for me they aren't a dealbreaker either I've gotten 17 hrs of gameplay and even though I will boot up the game from time to time, I feel like It will be mostly forgotten now. That is unless the developers add more depth and scope to the game

Yeah this game maybe looks better and have more modern take on this genre but everything feels for nothing more than a mobile game for 15$ Fact that they removed MP function and formula that they did decently in PR3 is what kills me
