About Magnus Imago

Magnus-verse game series (Tetralogy)
I. Magnus Failure
II. Magnus Imago
III. Magnus Positive Phototaxis
IV. Lazarus A.D. 2222

You’ve always had an intuition in you that you could not clearly define. This strange state in you escaped all conceptual schemas.

Magnus Imago is an atmospheric journey through a mysterious world of characters, traces and symbols.
Unique graphic aesthetics of the game deepens a keen impression of being in another reality.

“Magnus Imago” is a combination of an adventure, exploratory and logical game. The task of the player is to solve the puzzles, using proper combinations of objects, finding them in the environment around him.
The game has aesthetics of a hand drawing, individual comic-sketch style. The story is filled with a language of symbols which may direct the player into a deeper philosophical reflection. We strive for the told story to be open to the player’s individual interpretation, that is why the depicted world is ambiguous.
The game presents a journey of the main character as he learns the truth about himself, in a mysterious world around him. The story told within the game has an ambition of touching such philosophical-theological aspects as a soul’s wandering or metanoia.

The estimated time of the game is about 1 to 2 hours

This is the next installment of the Magnus series (first one is Magnus Failure). The next planned chapter will be "Magnus: phototaxis positive"

I'd say it's certainly worth a shot when part of a cheap bundle, however I really wouldn't recommend it for its full price. It's a fun rather simple puzzle game with pleasant art and a unique, difficult-to-describe vibe. The music is great too and definitely supports the somber yet ethereal atmosphere very well. While I genuinely have zero idea what the narrative is trying to convey, I found myself quite captivated regardless and am highly intrigued by the world-building. Overall this game has an enthralling premise and explores interesting elements, albeit, in my opinion, somewhat leans towards being a bit underwhelming for what it has to offer for the price.

Magnus Imago, developed by Sons of Welder and FM Simple Games Studio and published by Sons of Welder, is an atmospheric puzzle adventure that prioritizes symbolism, mood, and interpretation over traditional gameplay structure. Built around exploration and environmental storytelling, the game presents players with a surreal experience designed less as a conventional challenge and more as an interactive journey through strange imagery and layered ideas. Rather than guiding players through action-heavy sequences or clearly defined objectives, Magnus Imago encourages curiosity, observation, and personal reflection. The game places players inside an unusual world where reality feels unstable and logic does not always follow familiar rules. Progress unfolds through mysterious environments filled with symbolic imagery, unusual architecture, and moments that intentionally leave room for interpretation. The world feels dreamlike from beginning to end, creating an atmosphere where discovery becomes just as important as understanding. Players are not simply moving through locations searching for solutions. They are attempting to understand a world that often communicates through implication …
Magnus Imago :
I. Magnus Failure II. Magnus Imago III. Magnus Positive Phototaxis IV. Lazarus A.D. 2222 Second of the magnus serie about an hour to complete I'm usually not a fan of puzzles but I like the art style and atmosphere, also there's an easy mode which is nice for people that just want to focus on the story.

Video: https://youtu.be/cIf9e8N0gWc Pretty enjoyable second outing in the Magnus series. This takes a slightly different approach than the first game, putting us into a more Myst like experience. It was a bit more reliant on the hidden object aspect, and some things were a bit harder to piece together. But I still finished it pretty dang quick. I definitely enjoy the idea of mixing adventure, puzzle, and hidden object aspects into one nice package.

A short but interesting game with a strange feel. I can't quite explain it, but the games from this developer are simply something special. You can also play the games individually, but it's best to get them in a bundle or in a sale. Since the game is not that long, I recommend that you really get it during the sale. The puzzles aren't that difficult and I didn't have any technical problems.
